laser and tactial light combo for EVO
« on: March 03, 2018, 06:24:57 PM »
Just wondering if anybody have any questions about what brand of green laser and tactial light combo you guys used on your EVO?
I got my EVO few weeks back, love it so much.  and would like to put on laser and flash light on it to make it day and night weapon.   I first got NCstart, but the rail it is too small.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
thank you in advance.

I'm not sure about a laser, maybe just a cheap red laser from amazon made in china? Put that on the right side rail. On the left side rail, put a surefire scout 300 or similar. I can't recommend the Inforce WML, the activation button  has too much resistance.

Crimson Trace Rail Master on the right side. Nice low profile and easy activation with a fingertip. Cant speak about weapon lights for an Evo, had a SureFire on my SAW.

I have a tlr-1 hL on right side with pressure pad on left side. I also have a crimson trace green rail master in the mail just gotta figure out where she?s gonna go. My scorpion is a k conversion so I don?t have a lot of real estate. The rail master should be here on Wednesday so I?ll post a picture after I mount that.

Yeah but no pressure pad, 1/3 the lumen output, small battery life and double the cost of what I have.

I have surefire products but the tlr?s are much more affordable and have never failed me.

i've not found the pressure pad necessary, 200 lumens are fine for home defense (i agree it isn't enough for perimeter searches at 100 yds),  battery life is comparable to CR123 units, but it does cost a pretty penny. for its size/weight, its outstanding.

why i haven't been thrilled with all my streamlights: no master on/off switch. i hate when i get ALDs (accidental light discharges).

I have a bunch of Olight flashlights that get general use at work. Olight now offers wml. Wished they did a combo. On my P-09 i have an off brand light and laser combo, has worked fine so far on it. I would not want to completely rely on the light for perimeter searches, it does not have the reach that the Olight does. The wml might have 120 lume, great for indoors.

My pressure pad adapter for the tlr-1 has a off/on/pressure pad switch.

My pressure pad adapter for the tlr-1 has a off/on/pressure pad switch.

of course, but without a master control on the body to fully turn it off, the light can still be mistakenly turned on.

i've had TLRs and other brands (with/without extension "pressure" cords) that have turned on accidentally.

to prevent ALD, companies like surefire X300 & X400-series have this "definitely off" feature.

without a master on/off control, i've found my batteries dead when needed (due to pressure when in a carry case), and also have exposed my position when i didn't want that either.

but that said, the surefire models XC1 and XC2 don't have it either...

Very true. The only TLR with a master off, that I know about, is the TLR-VIR, but not particularly useful unless you have NVGs.

I usually put the TLR on the right side of the gun to prevent light ADs. Works even better if I use a tape switch, since one of the toggle levers is taken up by the socket.
