CZ 75B NEW EDITION
« on: March 03, 2018, 09:24:09 PM »
Hello
Does anyone know how many of these were made or are made?
Not much information on this version.
I wouldn?t mind getting another one.
Bought this one a couple months ago.
Just curious if these are common.
Thanks.

Don?t know about numbers but they are likely not very common. However, they have been in the CZ catalog since 2014 and are still in the 2018 one. Before the New Edition, there was the Limited Edition in late 2010, I think and only ran for 1-2 years. Same metal finish except the roll mark on the left of the slide has Limited Edition on it and I think they came with the rubber grips. Nice pistol and one of the finest looking cataloged pistols from CZUB in my opinion. Congrats on the purchase.

At least my Limited came with the black rubber grips. I bought a set of the half-checkered cocobolo grips to go with it (need a little fit adjustment though).

Thanks for the info and mentioning about the catalog. I didn?t know they had one and I searched for it
but only found the 2017 catalog.

Not sure what have been in the CZ-USA versions but it?s been in the CZUB catalogs. They have trickled into the States since 2014 and you?ll see occasional appearances on the big auction website.

I wish they made the full sizes with the non scalloped slide at the muzzle end. The look of the slide isn?t as clean IMO. For some reason, I like having matching serial numbers on my slides and barrels to the frame.
snakeye, no worries, I don't need someone in a leotard. :)

I love mine. I've been flirting with getting it Cajunized but I'm still hesitating, thinking I should leave one pistol stock (especially this one).

I think the factory takes a bit more care on these models so they feel pretty good right out of the box. A lighter hammer spring and extended firing pin is enough for me. If you look inside, do you see two numbers etched on the underside of the barrel and also near the front of the frame? Do those two numbers match the middle pair of numbers in the serial number?

Funny you should mention that. My barrel does have the two middle numbers etched in it (81). The frame has a different two numbers (98), both of which are in the serial number but not the same. I wondered what that meant.

My 2014 has 81 etched on the barrel. Was wondering if they match up the three major serialized components together early in the manufacturing process and keep them together to the end. Do keep in mind the ?1? as written by Czechs can look like a strange lower case L in cursive.

I bought one of these in October last year. I love it! One thing that I found a bit disconcerting was that it seemed that the slide rails on the frame were overmilled on the right side. I called CZUSA and sent this photo. The guy got back to me and said that none of the black polycoat ones he looked at were like that, but all of these ones were. Is yours milled like this?

Yes mine is similar. But the circular grind area is only .006? to .007? of an inch deep on the top most part of the rail. Not really a big deal. At least on mine. The machined slide rectangular inner rails on mine look excellent to me all the way down on both sides of the rails.
I wouldn?t put too much into it. Just my opinion.
Unless I am misunderstanding your post.
