Recovering Winchester Fan
« on: March 05, 2018, 05:25:00 PM »
New to the Forum. Just joined today. Was stumbling around looking for info on my first CZ 452 potential purchase ( will be made tomorrow as soon as the wife is out of the house :)   and came upon the site. Age 69, Nam combat vet, did a tour in '69 as a twin 50. cal gunner on PBR's with River Division 594 up around Cambodia ( any Brown Water Navy River Rats out there?), retired ,  Im a Hunter Ed. instructor and a licensed fishing guide, fly fishing but quit taking folks out a few years ago. Life time hunter and plinker.   Mostly Winchester .22's in the limited arsenal. A 69A, 75 Sporter, and a model 61.  Have a Marlin Golden 39a and cover the Mag detail with my trusty old  Mossberg 640 KA.  For years have been hearing about the accuracy and beauty of the CZ .22 line. Have a small 50 and 75 yard range set up out by the barn and a few Vet friends come over to plink and lie to each other now and again . Fella showed up with a sweet looking CZ 452 a while back and let me put some rounds down range with it . I was hooked . A great action and more accurate than I could make it shoot.Decided to seek one out, even though I need another .22 like I need another tax bill. But it never is about need is it ?
So here I am looking forward to going up the learning curve ,reading posts and will more than likely ask the usual ,rings, trigger, scope, whats next, etc questions  that can be found some where on the Forum.
 Glad to be aboard

Welcome from central Ohio.

I had to grin about your comment 'potential purchase ( will be made tomorrow as soon as the wife is out of the house...'

Thought I was the only collector that had to figure out how to get the latest purchase from the vehicle to the gun safe 'undetected'.

Recent example of a discussion now that I've recently taken up shotgun sport shooting (prior collection consisted solely of a few rifles and several handguns): her; 'so why do you need a shotgun?...me, 'uh, um...cuz I don't have one?'

Probably won't be able to use that excuse again...
