What can I use as a slave pin for the P-07 trigger?
« on: March 07, 2018, 11:45:57 AM »
Hi all. I'm trying to replace my p-07 trigger return spring and finding it quite difficult without a slave pin. I am in Canada and do not have access to CGW or CZC products.

I have used a piece of a qtip in the past.

A piece of a toothpick might also work.

You can cut/dremel an extra roll pin of the right diameter.  If its too small, it can get misaligned easily.  I swear Cajun supplied on with a trigger spring I bought.  I still use it.

BTW - the P07 TRS and pin are wonders.  CGW invented them for the 75 series and literally revolutionized TRS replacement and detail stripping.  (At least for me).

Just had mine apart today and put the CGW reduced power trigger return spring, firing pin block spring and firing pin retaining pin in it, and did a little stoning here and there.

I used a piece of tooth pick.  Worked like a champ.  The pins should just push out/in when everything is properly aligned for them to be inserted.

First time ever for this gun.  I got it 5 or 6 years ago, it was pretty nasty in the nooks and crannies.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I use the stock hammer pin after I installed the CGW hammer & pin... it's a little bit small, but it does the job just fine. I've used it 3 times now as I've touched up polishing a few areas after the install. I could have made something else, but it was on the table, and it fit... so figured I'd just use it.

I do like Oldfrank said.  Just find the right sized drill bit and Dremel the shank off at the right length.  Chamfer the edges and you're good to go.

When you chamfer, don't overdo it - the slave pin can too easily get canted/mis-aligned when you are trying to knock it out.

While replacing mine with a factory made one, as a preacaution measure, i figured using a hammer pin works quite well. It has a slightly smaller diameter but it only made the process easier for me.

I use a piece of Q-Tip and I then push it out with a punch just a hair smaller than the pin.  I can roll it and move it a little while moving the spring with small curved needle nose pliers.  Just push the slave pin out.  Put the pin in the other side and push out the punch.  Pretty simple that way, IMHO.

Round toothpick that has the points on each end..just cut to the correct length. I have a bunch of toothpicks sitting right now on the back of my workbench.
