Shadow 2 to SAO ?
« on: March 08, 2018, 08:43:15 AM »
I am wondering why those that have done this option have done it and have you been happy with the results?
I have a history of raving 1911's 20 yrs ago and have a sig Legion 226 SAO and prefer it over my sig da/SA however I get along with CZ better than sigs.

So maybe I am needed talked into it, IDK.

Honestly I never use DA on the shadow2.

Not a Shadow 2, but I converted my 75B .40 to SAO and removed the firing pin block components.  With a 2 way adjustable SAO trigger, you get a trigger with next to no pretravel and no overtravel.  It's like shooting a 1911.

My Shadow 2 will convert to SAO if you adjust the trigger over travel screw for single action. I did it on accident, tweaking it for a perfect single action break... then realized that it wouldn't trip the sear when pulling double action.  :P

Did the same with an SP-01 and haven't looked back.

CGW did the same for me on the first gun David worked on for me......it is one of the most accurate guns I have or, at least, the one I shoot the best.  I had him do the the same on my 97B when
did the E Conversion and a bunch more work on it.

I have a few that need to go to him. I think I will start off with the shadow 2, have a package installed, bushing and SOA with a flat trigger.

My preference for trigger shape is the 5SAO that has a slight curve in the face.  I had a flat trigger in my 75B when first built but changed it to the 5 SAO after CGW put one in my 97 BE when they did the conversion.

I have a 226 SAO with a flat trigger and it really doesn't bother me.  Rifles a different story.

I have mine done that way and love it.  Wasn't a big fan of the DA on the Shadow 2, but as a SAO the gun is very slick and quick.  It takes me out of Production for USPSA, but I have an SP-01 Tactical that I worked on for that.  This is with an aluminum trigger from Armory Craft.
