homemade sights
« on: March 10, 2018, 12:11:54 AM »
Guys, I have a G19 that is extensively modified.  I have Ameriglo Spartan tactical sights on it.  The are absolutely my favorite pistol sights.  They have a blacked out rear and an orange glo front sight.  There are also tritium vials in the front and rear.  What I want to do is take a pair of factory CZ sights for my PO 7, drill them out, and use epoxy with black paint for the rear and orange glo for the front.  I wish CZ, Ameriglo, or Trijicon would make sights like these for the PO guns.  Or does anyone know of any sights like these for CZ.  Thanks and getting ready to buy a PO 9.

I am unclear on at the dovetail of the sites you are talking about. Depending on the design you may be able to have the P series factory site cut reprofiled to accept the sites that you like. If this sounds like an option it may be worthwhile to contact one of the CZ custom shops.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

It's funny you mention this actually because I just did this a few nights ago. I started making custom tritium vial sights for my beretta and I've actually gotten pretty good at it. I always wanted blue and red colored tritium sights so the only solution was to make them haha. But if you are serious about it, I could try and make the set your talking about. I was thinking about trying to sell my existing ones anyways.
P.s fiber optic insets work as well.

I certainly wish someone would make different sights for the CZ platform in general, from my experience it is very limited and the options available are not to my liking. I can appreciate the longer sight radius with the backswept sight (factory P-07) but it doesn't offer much in the way of real estate or edges if you need to rack the slide on something other than your support hand. I did this mod this past weekend - it is not finished and looks a little rough but this is my experimental gun.

I know there are similar options available for the P-07 but it would also mean swapping out my FO front sight which I like and don't want to change. My personal sight preference is blacked out rear and FO front sight, I always have to remove my rear sight and paint out the factory dots.

I do prefer the factory sight on the P-01 but again it has to be removed and painted. It is very easy to rack one-handed with it which is necessary for me in a defensive pistol
