I recently purchased a P-09 and P-09 and love them both.   My only complaint would be that the DA on both pistols are pretty darn heavy.  The pistols are going to be used as self-defense tools and I'd like to lighten the DAs on both a bit but I don't want to do a mass replacement of all of the internals (although I did do this on a CZ 75B with CGW parts and the pistol is absolutely fantastic).

Will I be able to get away with replacing the stock parts with a CGW yellow 18 pound hammer spring, a lighter firing pin spring, and a reduced power trigger return spring only and still have reliable pistols (without, say, replacing the stock FP with an extended FP as well)?

The hammer spring is probably your best bang for the buck.  The trigger return spring will help a little but its almost not worth tearing the whole pistol down for the minimal gain.  If you are going to tear it down, bend the trigger bar spring down a little, polish the internals and change the hammer spring and trigger return spring.  You'll probably end up doing more later anyway.

Excellent info Mike, thank you!   I just ordered hammer springs, FP springs, trigger return springs, and FP retaining pins from CGW.

Can't say about the hammer spring but I recently installed the reduced power trigger return spring and reduced power firing pin block spring in my P07 and one of my P09's using the CGW springs.

It reduced the DA trigger pull 1/2 lb.  I also did a small amount of polishing on a couple internal parts, but not much.

For smoothness I'd recommend stoning/polishing the corners of the hammer spring guide.  One of mine had chatter marks on it from the spring rubbing/bouncing on the corners as the spring compresses/releases.

My old CZ 85 has these marks so bad you can actually hear the noise if you hole the frame near your eat and thumb cock the hammer.  Sort of grating/clicking noise.  I'll polish it, someday.

The trigger return spring replacement is a good idea as some people have had problems with the factory trigger return spring breaking during the break in period.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I'm expecting that the 18 pound hammer spring is going to definitely help.  I carry a Beretta 92a1 at work and just replacing the stock hammer spring with the "D" hammer spring in that pistol did wonders for the DA trigger pull.   I'm hoping for similar results!

I am using the 15lb hammer spring in one of my P-07 and 16lb in the other and I am having no reliability issues with a 7.5lb DA pull.  I also have the Pro kit in one and hammer and springs in the other.  Both have polished internals.

How much do I bend the trigger bar spring down?  There were pics unfortunately in the thread you forwarded.

Very cool.   I'm sure your triggers are outstanding.   I'm just wary of getting too far away from stock.  I usually don't like to tinker around too much with the design in a carry gun but these DA pulls are just a little much  hahahaha

If you pull the trigger bar spring out from under the trigger bar, Look at how high it sits.  Mine is now about an 1/8" above the bottom of the trigger bar.  then just snap it back under the trigger bar.

Is it OK to bend it down in place or does it have to be removed first?
