If Sigs are your drug of choice, then I call that healthy living. LOL

I have an XD9MM but it does not shoot as good as my CZs it is about on par with my Glock 9MM. The XD would be a great carry gun.

" it is about on par with my Glock 9MM. "

I like them better than Glocks personally,  don't get me wrong ,  Glocks are phenomenal, but the XD is everything that Glock does well, but only improved on.

I've got a XD-40 V-10 Ported (40 cal) and it's one of my favorite guns ever. It feels like it was molded for my hand. superior shooter.

I'll have to concur with KingPolymer and the rest...the Xd line is excellent...and well worth the $$.

I am glad you also enjoy it securecitizen.  Next month on my list,  I am getting another 3 inch barrel compact in 9mm.  Great carry gun,  I actually like it better than my Glock 26. , it seems more ergonomic and more accurate.

I have been impressed with the XD9.  I handled a Tactical model yesterday, and I loved it.  I also very much liked the sumcompace model as well.  The service model is okay, but it is bulkier than the midsize G models.

I have an XD 9mm service and it is a nice gun. The one I have has the stainless slide and I recomend it over the blued slide unless you just can not handle stainless. Nice pistol.

Newest weapon in the safe is a XD-40 Tactical.  Bought it at the tail end of the extra mag and holster package deal.

First trip to the range, I was shooting better than 75's in 40 and 9.  It was coming close to shooting better for me than my preferred GP-100.

Second trip to the range and my club had an informal steel plate competition.  Four courses of fire.  My first competition ever.  Chose the XD over the GP for fun and because I had an extra box of .40 which I'd probally need.  Haven't seen the tallied results yet, but it looks like I placed 3rd or 4th.  1st and 2nd were professional competitors who have quite the trophy cases at home.  Their rigs were easily 4x the cost of my XD.  We beat out two other 'race gun' users, and one of the time trials I came REAL close to the top two.

Not bad for only the second time out and second 100 rounds down the tube.  No FTF, FTE or any other problems.  Worked smoothly and when I did my part, it matched me perfectly.  I have no complaints and it's found a permanent home next to the 75's and GP.

The ported 4inch service model should decrease your felt recoil and the feeling of "bulkiness".

One thing worth considering on the compact models and the 4" service model XD, is the dual recoil spring guide system. My shooting partner has a Glock 26 that we both like very much, except for the condition of ejected brass. Since he put in a 3 Lb. connecter it has become even better, so he has decided to keep it and will relieve the ejection port to keep the brass from dinging as it exits. Even once fired brass is culled from that of our other 9mm pistols and that will probably continue.

The XDs, have already remedied the issue with ejection ports relieved at the factory, as all pistols should be. In the heavier recoiling models of the XD Compact or Service model, the dual spring system is comporable to a recoil reduction system  that actually works in other pistols and the same is true for the mini-Glocks. If you prefer a polymer pistol in .40 and especially .357 SIG, Compact or Service, that dual recoil two stage rod system will prove its worth in short order.;)
