Questions: SP-01 Tactical
« on: March 30, 2018, 09:13:26 AM »
I just got a new SP-01 Tactical yesterday, and being new to CZ, I had a few quick questions.

*I don't like/need the right side decocker; can CZC/CGW etc. remove it?

*the trigger isn't comfortable for me, due to the very end of it digging into my finger. What are my options for a trigger with less of a curve? Does the 85 Combat trigger work on a decocker pistol?

So far, I really like it.

Congrats,  the tactical was one of my first czs.

You can purchase a standard 75bd decocker lever and it will drop in on the sp01.  That will remove the right side lever but allow you to keep the original in the event you ever want to sell the gun.

My favorite trigger the original 85c.  The profile is much more comfortable and doesn't pinch your finger.   Do yourself a favor and get the cgw floating trigger pin and his decocker slave pin.   These are must have items when detail stripping the pistol and will make assembly a ton easier.

Cheers,
Toby

Before I bought this pistol, I had spoke with CGW, and he mentioned their 10x bushing, so I think I may send it to them for that, and have them install the 75BD decocker you mentioned, along with the 85C trigger, and I?ll be set.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated!

If you're going to send it to CGW anyways.....overall it's going to run you $70-80 in shipping charges (unless you're lucky enough to live within driving distance  :)), so I'd seriously think about what else you might want them to do while they have your firearm (consider things that you won't want to do or have time to do yourself). If they're replacing the trigger, no doubt they'll also suggest you replace the return spring with the CGW reduced power one and replace the trigger pin well with their floating trigger pin....as tdogg already suggested... [total here of $20 in parts; they'll have the trigger out anyways, since you're having the trigger replaced...and it's $$ well-spent]. If you don't want to replace any more parts right now, perhaps you can have them do some polishing on the internals? I don't know how much the latter will run, as I usually have them do the entire pro pkg.....but I think the polishing alone will certainly smooth things out for you. FWIW.

Ernie,

Yes, I've been thinking exactly that. I'll call them tomorrow, and see what they have to say, and go from there.

Thanks!

I just got my SP 01 back from CGW a few weeks ago, had the Pro Package installed. Amazing didifference in the way it shoots.

I also got my sp01 tactical back from cgw  two weeks ago.  I went with the defensive package and barrel bushing. Setup. Also added the ez40 sights.  The trigger is night and day different then before.  Before I didn't like the feel of the trigger now its sweet. It takes awhile to get the gun back but worth the wait. I would say get a list and do it all together like others have mentioned. Dave or Scott will be more than happy to talk with you about your needs.  You may also look at the srt option because it's still a reach with my medium hands.

Trigger is major improvement, much more accurate than I am for sure as well. Recoil much improved and you can get back on target quicker. I just sent a 75B .40 to them, wait is worth the improvement, at least to me.

Cajun did a package on my SP01. Racking the slide was always so tight, the springs they installed lightened it up nicely. The trigger is like butter, and the reset incredible. I'm gonna have them do my other CZs as well.
