Slide milling
« on: March 30, 2018, 10:30:48 PM »
I was going to use Primary Machine for the slide milling combo and I had a couple of questions.  I have left a message twice and have not received a call back.  Any other suggestions?  I can get the Vortex Viper but need to get the slide done.  CGW also does it but just looking for suggestions.

I'm sorry, but a little old fashioned.  I really wanted to talk to someone and ask some questions when spending that much money.

No need to apologise, maybe if you emailed him and set up a phone call. . .

Raining brass at primary machines got back to me quickly, as was said, send him a p.m. he'll answer.
He does very nice work. He milled my PO 9 for a Vortex Viper, it's so tight you couldn't fit a piece of paper in there.
And the titanium cerakote on the slide is great, I would not hesitate to use him again.

I have the Vortex Viper on the way.  It is gonna be fun.  Never used one on a pistol.  I have one on a 22 rifle.

The Vortex Viper on the PO 9 for my old eyes, ( and many others have said the same thing probably of my age)
is the best thing I ever did for my pistol, and my shooting skills. In the past I used to use one eye now I use both eyes Target acquisition is immediate.
when I go out to target practice , I only practice for self-defense, for me as long as I can draw as quickly as I possibly can and put two shots Center Mass, it's all good for me👍😎

Almost 68 and I still shoot pretty well especially with rifles.  Do pretty well with pistols too but thought it would be a fun project and I might really like it.

Just for grins, I am thinking about trading my suppressor height night sights that are on this gun for regular height night sights for my black P-07.  Not sure I am too worried about the co-witness thing on this P-07.  Gonna lose my rear anyway.  Any thoughts on this move?

IMHO, I don't have Co witness sights and probably won't do it, that's just for me. Many others will tell you differently and what they like to do. If it's just a Target gun I don't think I need them. For self-defense it's personal choice.

I actually carry an M&P Shield and sometimes my Glock 43, and am very comfortable with that choice.  I will be using it as a range gun primarily.

I changed my mind and ordered a F/O front sight for the black P-07.  I'll leave the elevated front sight on the UG getting the Optic.

Haven't heard anything from Primary Machine, but it is Easter weekend.  Maybe I'll hear from them next week.  I'll chill.  Gotta wait till the Vortex Viper gets here anyway.
