PSA for anyone not happy with factory P-01 sights
« on: April 07, 2018, 04:33:48 PM »
Hello all, I just wanted to mention this. I consider myself sort of a beginner to shooting and needed help with my accuracy and consistency. I have been through 3 sets of sights on my P-01 since I got rid of the horrible factory sights. I still couldnt get the sight picture that I wanted. I tried Mepros and Truglo TFXs which were ok, but not the answer for me. I was gonna go with fiber optics even though I wanted my P-01 to have night sights for carry. I decided to try the CGW P-01 Trijicon night sights. I love them. The front sight has a larger dot to concentrate my focus on. Now the proper focus comes automatically with all my guns without thinking about it anymore. They have made me a much better shot. If you find yourself in the same situation that I was in, give these sights a try. I think the way they look seals the deal!

Is your point of aim the same as impact?

Nice.  How do they look in the dark?

Thanks. I've been looking at sites for the P01. Was thinking Dawson. These look good too.

If I can recall correctly, Dawson makes these sights. I threw away the packaging materials so I can't be sure. Here is the link to the page at CGW. https://cajungunworks.com/product/320-221-trijicon-night-sights/ I was very happy to find out that they come with everything needed to install them and the hole for the front the sight pin is already there!

Just a note that some of those cuts in the front sight replacement may not always align correctly. I have learned to run a 2mm drill bit through the front sight hole afer the sight is in place to ensure the pin doesnt run into anything going in. I learned this the hard way....

My P-01 currently still has the truly, less than satisfactory, factory sights.  My plan is to install a set of these:

I like those.  Might need a set for my PCR.....deciding between those and the Trijicons.

I seem to shoot better with a little space around the front sight.  Does anyone know the width of the rear notch and the width of the front sight on each set of sights?

I think the Dawson measurements are at the link provided above...
