CZ Scorpion Trigger Pack Removal Question
« on: April 22, 2018, 12:18:59 PM »
Hi everyone.  I have a CZ scorpion EVO purchased a month or so ago and was going to replace my trigger springs using the HBI kit.  I've looked at the photos of welded trigger packs, mine doesn't have the collar and associated weld.  However, it still looks welded to me, and I can't get the thing loose.  I've attached a photo.

This doesn't look like just a screw to me, I can't see any threads, just a metallic blob.  To be fair, the photos I've seen look similar, but wondering if that's because they are a top view and not high quality.  What do you think?  Has CZ welded any screws this way?

Yeah, I have tried it.  I can't get it to budge. I'm starting to strip the screw at this point. Looking at it more closely, it doesn't look like just a screw. It looks like someone dripped solder on the top of it. I'm wondering if others were the same? Maybe it's not what I think, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what it could be if not solder.

Maybe CZ started welding the screw itself so there would be no threads to be able to unscrew.

If you have a Dremel you can try cutting/grinding that piece off

Thanks for the help guys!

I was able to get the screw out finally. Turns out it wasn't welded.  CZ just used a ton of thread lock. The end of the screw isn't threaded and is rounded in a way that made it look weird when that was all I could see from the top.  I found a different 3mm Allen wrench in the tool box that seemed to fit better than one from my new Allen wrench set for some reason. That allowed me to apply enough torque to get the thing out.

Congrats on getting it out.
Next time try a little heat. Most thread lockers loosen up with a flame is applied.

I thought about it.  I was a little worried about using heat on a firearm built with so much polymer.  Glad I didn't have to try it.  :)
