This is my first CZ that I didn't instantly love. That said, there's a lot to like about it and it is really growing on me.
That explains exactly how I feel about my P-10. On one hand there IS a lot to like about it. It feels great in the hand (grip may be borderline too rough, but manageable), and everything works perfectly. Since I had to adjust my rear sight a bit, I think my next visit to the range will be met with better accuracy. But for some reason as mentioned before, this is the first CZ that I didn't instantly love.
This is my first polymer CZ, so that may be the reason. I've been spoiled by being lucky enough to own a Shadow 2, and Shadow Orange, and just recently a TSO. The all metal CZs are just outstanding guns, so good in fact that I just assumed that I would automatically love the P-10 too. I do like it, but it's taken more time to get to that point.
Placing the P-10 along side my Shadow Orange, it's obvious that size wise they are very close. The shape of the two, the feel in my hand is very similar. It's very obvious that they are from the same family and that CZ tried to take many of the features of the older SP-01 and incorporate it into the newer polymer P-10. It's a great gun, but it's just taking time for me to really get enthusiastic about it. I guess when you consider that is is less than half (an in one case less than one third) the price of some of the other CZs I own, it's to be expected. Just the fact that CZ has managed to come up with a polymer version of it's classic P-01 for so little money is a great feat. Most people tend to start with the less expensive guns and eventually work up in price and quality. I guess I confused things by starting near the top first.
So I'll continue to plug away and use the P-10. I am getting more used to it, and it is beginning to feel better and better. I just didn't think it would take this long.
