CGW roller P07
« on: May 05, 2018, 06:40:16 AM »
Greetings.
Presume that in order to eliminate my current DA timing issue, plus generally upgrading my pistol, I ordered the CGW pro grade kit.
Now, the problem I currently have with my gun is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d02_AEaRDdo
My problem is not as bad and extreme as it is on the video, but the same problem happens from time to time.
I concluded that the problem is the OD roller (not 100% sure about it, but what else could it be?), and that's why I ordered the CGW kit.
The thing is, I figured that the OEM OD roller may vary from .212" - .225"
I also figured that the CGW complete kit comes with a .225" roller, whereas there is an option to install a .230" roller on the pistol.
Can I rely on the .225" roller to eliminate the problem? Or did I take a gamble here and I could possible need the .230"?
I haven't measured my current OEM roller, but I tend to believe it is not .225", and would possibly be smaller.

I had the same issue with one of my P-07's.  The trigger is hitting the frame. Take a flat jeweler's file and take a tiny bit of material off of the polymer at the rear of the trigger hole in the frame. Just enough for it to clear. Just a few swipes is all it takes.  I actually did it without removing the trigger.  Apparently they are not all cut exactly the same. Problem solved.

I remember when "Common Sense" was common.  I must really be old!

Similar to an overtravel screw too far in (which is why I remove them on pistols that have them). I wonder if you could file the back of the trigger alternatively.

I'd measure the existing roller and then go up one size.

The slightly larger roller will fix this. You need to measure yours first so you don't go too large. Too large causes a crappy double action trigger pull. The correct size roller results in a smooth double action pull and corrects the timing issue you have now.

Yeah, I suspected that.
Well, the kit I ordered contains the .225" size.
Let's just hope it fits the gun.
I don't live in the US and getting the CGW kit (which is not shipped internationally) is a harder mission for me than it is for most of you I guess.
I'll just cross fingers that the size in the kit is good enough.

Hopefully this fixes your issue but it is always good to know your measurements before ordering this type of parts. My OE roller was egg shaped and measured .218 at one point and .215 another and had the issue in the low spot. The .220 CGW roller cured the problem completely.
