I continue to be more than satisfied with the Shield RMS and CZ 75 Compacts. The RMS co-witnesses with factory sights quite well on the P-01.
I do prefer the PCR (picky, picky). I have a PCR with all the CGW goodies, Pro-package, bushing, and a set of CZC sights that I really like (if I could see them). They work well with my shooting glasses ... but I'm becoming more and more of a convert to red dots/optics.
I tried to remove the rear iron sight on my P-01 to see if I thought the "notch" in the RMS would be adequate as a BUIS. I think CZ must have wielded the rear sight in the dove tail! Now, finally, the question ... do we think the RMS notch would function adequately as back-up sights in case of RMS failure?
The loaded chamber indicator (LCI) on the PCR and the strange/odd/unusual rear sight cut in the slide make the PCR a little more difficult to mill than the P-01. My thinking is to mill the PCR for a RMSc, using the rear dove tail slot as part of the milled area, using the "notch" on the RMSc as the back-up. That seems to be a more "elegant" solution (or maybe I'm just still hallucinating from 20 hours of graduate level statistics courses?)
I appreciate all thoughts, information this esteemed forum can offer ...
FYI/FWIW ... after finding the PCR I'm selling many, if not most of my other pistols, so I'm generating some money ... which would allow me to buy another PCR for milling and the full CGW treatment ... life can be good for a retired old fart ...
