Threaded 97 barrels?

Nice!  How does it work?  You still have the factory barrel bushing, did you have to fit the barrel?

It runs really well so far, super fun. Accuracy seems fine and the slide moves SO slowly back into battery with suppressors attached, its awesome. Some fitting required but super easy if you have a factory barrel to reference. I ordered the 97bd after the Barsto barrel arrived lol...

The CZ97 had about 300 rounds through it before sending in to CGW for work. The tipping point for sending it in was I had the factory bushing nut rotate and lock the slide back.. no good! (Issue resolved in the garage, had to tap the bushing nut with a punch and hammer until the slide unlocked) .
The work from CGW looks excellent, feels very good. SA is a small takeup then light wall to break. DA is small takeup then smooooooth pressure until break. 3.5#SA & 7#DA (pretty sure from memory) per the CGW gunsmith. The CGW experience was great,
can't wait to test the gun.

Dead Air GhostM is new, not tried yet. Have a Obsidian 45 so expect same or better results

The TFX PRO sights on the 97 will shoot about 6” low at 10 yards.  They are for the 75, rear is waaay low.  I have the TFX PRO front and CZ #12 rear and I still need to hold high.  That front dot is big, not a target sight but a great combat sight.  I’m fabricating parts to raise the TFX rear.

Per CGW when I talked to the gunsmith when I asked about replacement sights: Front sight: 0.37", rear sight 0.41"

I just got back from range, everything ran pretty good, sounded good with the GhostM. Had a couple issues over 75 rounds or so:
 slingshotting the slide would not quite put her into battery
 1 failure to eject
 1-2 failure to enter SA upon second shot

These issues seem to be resolved with the supressor off.. was using Federal 230gr FMJ target ammunition. Maybe needs something hotter?

Is anyone having malfunction issues with their bar sto barrel? I’m running the match grade barrel, I’ve fitted the barrel correctly, I’ve fitted a few barrels now. The gun runs fine with the stock barrel.
I’m having failure to feed issues, the round is getting hung up entering the barrel, goes up the feed ramp then gets stuck.

I’ve tried 4 different kinds of 230 grain ball ammo along with a new magazine, same out come. I’ll have 3-4 malfunction out of a 50 round box. Seems to get worse after the gun heats up. Oddly enough the gun doesn’t malfunction when I’m running my suppressor. Soon as I remove the can the problems ensue.

Also does anyone have any abnormal wear along the bottom of their barrel? I grease all my barrels also, never seen this much wear so fast.

When I first got the Bar Sto fit back in May '19 I had several fail to feed problems with the first 200 rds or so.  I compared the ramp angles between the Bar Sto and the original barrel and it looked like the Bar Sto had a different ramp angle.  I polished the ramp quite a bit and the failures pretty much stopped.  Jumping forward to March '20 and I finally received my suppressor.  I've shot 220 of the same S&B 230 gr FMJ rds using the suppressor and have had no feeding problems.  But I haven't shot it without the suppressor since I've gotten it.  I've shot about 600 rds total through the Bar Sto barrel.

I need to take the pistol apart and see if it's dirtier than normal since using the suppressor.  I'll check for the wear marks then.

I'll check out the angle of the feed ramp and I'll polish mine also, interesting to see a few of us if not more are having a little teething problems with this barrel. I have close to 700-800 rounds through my barrel now. The gun shoots like a laser beam with this barrel, shooting steel out to 100 yards free hand pretty quick. Which why I need to make this barrel work, haha.

Went out today and shot 50 rds without the suppressor and they all worked fine.  Also shot 50 more rds with the suppressor on without any problems at all.

I'll clean the pistol and check out the barrel wear over the weekend.

Pistol was pretty dirty but not near as dirty as I thought it might be shooting suppresed.  Granted, I have no idea when I cleaned it last. 

There was no appreciable barrel wear on it anywhere.

However, I did discover the rear sight was loose.  No wonder I had a few odd shots yesterday.  I just thought I was shooting too fast.

I did hang onto the pistol much harded for the last 10 shots and they all shot fine.  It really is an amazing ballet that happens when you attach a suppressor on the end of a semi-automatic pistol!

I just received a BarSto semi fit threaded barrel and a CZ97B. Can you show me a picture of exactly where you removed metal from the barrel to get it to fit up into battery? Thanks. Perry

I had to file down the top front lip of the barrel chamber so it would fit into the opening in the slide.   You can see where I slipped with the file and scraped across the top front of the barrel chamber in the pic below.  I didn't have to remove very much to make it fit.

Line the new barrel up next to the original one and you should be able to see the difference in length at that spot.

The top front lug needed to be fitted so it slipped past the top lip of the slide.  Now it works properly.

Another perfect day with the 97B, Barsto and Octane 45 easily handling another 80 rds of FMJ with no problems at all.
