T-100 barrel bushing...again
« on: June 02, 2018, 08:59:29 AM »
Ok...I installed my barrel bushing, but in doing so the barrel is "locked" into place. This presents a problem because I just bought a new barrel to replace the one in the gun. I want to replace the barrel, but realized the bushing must come out first. Any suggestions where to start? What tools work best for extracting bushing that won't move and is hard to work with because of barrel stuck in there. Barrel slides back and forth, but can not be taken out because of bushing.
Thanks in advance.

Pull the barrel out as much as possible and try and clear the hood as well.

Try and give the muzzle area a light tap with the back of a screwdriver (plastic) . Something non marring.

With my 10X bushings I have to do that sometimes. To me that means it's a tight fit which is the purpose of those bushings.

Also your new barrel likely needs to be fit. You probably already know that but wanted to mention that just in case.

Usmo,
When angling the barrel, check to see if it is hitting the extractor.  Push on the outside of the slide at the extractor to move the claw away from the barrel.  This will give a bit more room to wiggle the barrel out.
