Spread the word about I-1639
« on: June 17, 2018, 08:54:29 PM »
And now they wanted to limit gun rights passing draconian I-1639 in my state (WA).
Among many limitations coming with this initiative the craziest is that every semiautomatic rifle will be considered now "semiautomatic assault rifle", even Marlin 60.

The full information about this initiative is here: http://www.i1639.org/

!!! Please spread the word, even if you don't live in WA you might have friends or relatives there !!!

I'm afraid that if they gather enough signatures, this initiative will be easily passed during November elections :(

Everything is in our hands. If bad-informed, biased people vote, why informed people don't?

In WA State officially about 600,000 people have concealed pistol licenses, with projected number of gun owners - 1,800,000.
The number of registered voters is 3,973,623.

In 2014 when the previous gun control initiative passed - 1,239,728 voted in favor, while 851,666 voted against.
If we make a speculation that everyone who voted for gun control was not gun owner and everyone who voted against was gun owner - then 57% of non gun owners voted vs 47% of gun owners.

If more pro gun people participated - the results could be different.

Not everyone that owns a gun votes against gun control measures.

A Thurston County Superior Court judge has issued a writ of mandamus against a Washington State gun control initiative because it was improperly presented to voters by not following guidelines set down in state election law.
This is not the end of it. They did say they plan to appeal, we shall see.

True.  The elitist, well connected feel comfortable in their special exemptions, for sure.

Thurston County Superior Court threw it out, ruled the signature sheets did not comply with state law, people signing did not know exactly what they were signing. Expect it to be appealed to WA Supreme Court.

Good news, indeed. I hope WA Supreme Court won't be influenced by State politicians and media and will confirm Thurston County Court decision.

WA Supreme Court put initiative back to the ballot. >:(

?Today, the Washington State Supreme Court abrogated its duty to protect the state constitution and state election laws by allowing Initiative 1639 back on the November ballot,? said Alan Gottlieb, founder and Executive Vice President, Second Amendment Foundation, in a news release on Friday. ?The court never addressed the merits of the complaints against I-1639, instead choosing to ignore the law.?
