Shadow 2 10X bushing
« on: July 04, 2018, 04:53:57 PM »
I'm pretty happy with my Shadow 2 in stock configuration and am getting decent groups at 25 yards with off the shelf ammo. When I do my part around 2-3" groups from a rest, with a flyer every now and then. So far around 400-500 rounds through. I've not shot really good ammo through it yet.

My question for those who have the 10X bushing in this pistol, what have been your results?

No feedback? Guessing not many have had the bushing added with the S2.

I will wait until better ammo can be tried.

With the pistol in battery (unloaded of course), can you push up and down on the barrel and feel relative movement? The 10X bushing will increase the tightness for this. I've had some CZ's that are loose for this and others that are tight. If it is tight you won't see as much improvement of the 10X bushing verses a loose one. I have a Shadow 2 and Shadow Target that are very tight and therefore don't have the 10x bushing. The others benefited with it.

I added one to my S2 and my groups were just *slightly* larger

Ever so slight but yes it's there. My tactical has the 10X bushing and has benefited though different ammo prints differently at 25 yds. I got the best groups with Speer Lawman but have not been able to find any as of late. I will put more rounds through and experiment with different ammo first. The 10X bushing can't hurt.

The bushing gave me instantly better precision. Bracing on a block the group's went from 1.5-2" down to less than 1" at 10 yards. Didn't test any further than that because I don't ever shoot 25 yards so I can't compare.

If I could only pick one upgrade on the S2 it would be the bushing.

Got the Cajun 10X bushing in and installed in my S2. Had to snap the barrel in place and did not try to remove as it seemed more difficult. Assuming this will get easier with firing.

What a difference between the old bushing and the 10X. Was amazed how thin the old one is with some metal actually missing at the rear. Even thinner than the one that came out of my SP-01 that had no metal missing. Evidently there are tolerance differences that vary with these. Either you get a good one or one less desirable.

Should improve the accuracy. If not still happy with a much better quality bushing and zero movement at lockup.

Some photos of the removed factory bushings from my SP-01 left 2016 and Shadow 2 2018 right.
