Right now LE/armed forces orders for the Bren 2 are taking priority. However, it seems that CZ themselves have said that they're aiming at next year for the civilian version to be ready. The civilian version of the FB Radom MSBS Grot (another new 5.56mm rifle that I'm interested in) is out in Europe, for example, though that's yet to have ATF approval for import here. At least CZ would have more pull than FB (a newcomer to the North American market) to get stuff in since they're already established.
I do wonder, though, if CZ licenseing Bren 2 production in Hungary might help with getting the civilian Bren 2s in the pipeline quicker. IMO, that can only help, though right now the Hungarian Bren 2s are being built from knock down kits (like the CZ P-09 pistols and Scorpion Evo SMGs) while the factory in Hungary is retooling (the factory originally made the Hungarian versions of the AK-47 as well as update kits for them).
