Well since this is a budget optic you could try a Holosun.

Honestly, before I started poking around the Scorpion threads, I had never heard of Holosun before.

And I don't mean that as a bad thing, simply that I am mostly unfamiliar with them.

I have a votex spitfire on mine.  I have issues with red dots due to  astigmatism.  But an added plus, even if my battery dies... I still have the dot since it's etched!  (and it just plain looks cool!)
Girls just gotta have guns and ammo.... LOTS of ammo!

I had done a lot of research before getting mine. Everything I read about the Bushnell TRS-25 is that it is an amazing red dot for the cost. I have it and its shot fairly well. Without risers, you have to jack up the elevation quite a bit.

This is...interesting! Somehow I've mostly overlooked that optic over the years. My main question for you...how well would this optic work if using the Scorpion as a pistol (no brace, etc), holding the pistol grip in your right hand and placing your left hand on the forend. Imagine that "sling support" method, essentially. Is the eye relief/optic good for this (assuming that you have the 1x)?

I went with the Holosun HS403 from Brownells I think. Normaiiy I buy from Primary Arms but they were out of these when I wanted it. I think I spent $171 shipped. 50K hours battery life, has an auto on feature and if the gun is sitting still for 3?hours it goes to sleep, you set that timer. Brightness setting, easy to sight in.

That Sig Romeo that is just like the Holosun? I'm pretty certain they are built on the same assembly line as the Holosun. Can't go wrong with a Holosun, for a budget RD. I have on several ARs/rifles a Lucid, Bushnell, Vortex and the Holosun. Hands down the Holosun is the easiest to use and with the 50K battery life, pick it up and it is ready to go, no futzing with an on switch.

I know that is not what OP asked but it's an option.
Primary Arms Cyclops 1X with ADM micro qd mount. Why? Acss reticle and astigmatism.

I hate to rain your parade but was a piece of junk. I liked it functionality-wise. It just started turning itself off randomly and would burn through batteries. I hope your works better for you than mine did for me.

I picked up the romeo5 formmine, supposedly co-witness with the iron sites, that?s pretty good, and it?s a lot smaller than the sight mark I have which may or may not find it?s way on there. I?ve yet to shot mine though as I got it this morning.

That is a pretty sweet looking setup.

Thanks!
I recently went to zero the optic. At the end, my group was 12" at 100 yards using factory ammo. I was pleased with the  results since my eyes are pretty bad.
This optic will not cowitness;  but you will see the open portion of the front sight. If I install the factory mount, I don't see the front sight.

If you want true co-witness and compactness, the Burris Fastfire II (not III) is the ticket.  I tried both Fastfire II and III, the older FFII won!

No need to even be concerned about cowitness with a prism optic. There's just no need since there's no red dot to fail, the reticle is always going to be there. Even if the glass shattered (which will never happen), you just flip the lever on the quick detach mount and strip the whole thing off in less than 2 seconds then use the irons.
