2075 magazine rattle???
« on: July 28, 2018, 09:02:45 PM »
Guys I have a 10 round factory mag in 9mm and when it has 10 rounds inserted I hear a rattle somewhere close to the baseplate..If I remove one round, leaving 9, the rattle goes away. It rattles when inserted in the pistol or when taken out of it..Any of you experience something similar? If so, what did you do about it?? Thanks in advance!

I get the same thing on my sp-01.  Haven't had any feeding or operating problems with mine but it is annoying.

Mine does the same.  I haven't had functioning problems from it.

It's normal. There are many prior threads on this topic.

Normal. Sometimes I have to smack the back of the mag into my hand. That settles things down usually. A lot of double stack mags will do it at times. The rattle is caused from the magazine base lock rattling.

Interesting....My SP-01 has no issues like this nor any of my 75Bs that I have had in the past...Yes, it is annoying and is there anything to do about it other than removing a round and having 9 rounds in the mag?? Now that I think of it, none of the CZs I have owned in the past have this issue either..
Also can someone direct me to the previous posts concerning this issue?? Thanks again guys!!

There is a search function in the top right corner of this page. Type in "mag rattle" and two pages of results will come up. If you can't find them, you aren't looking.
The rattle is due to the staggered feed design of CZ magazines. I believe Berettas and a few others have the same "issue". You can download one round, or learn to live with it. After the springs break in it doesn't seem to happen as much, at least with mine. It is such a common question with new owners, that some CZ owner FB pages will delete the post if the question is asked w/o searching.

All of my metal CZ's have this issue, it may be normal but that doesn't make it acceptable. My Polymer CZ's don't have the issue.

Searching for a remedy to silence the magazine rattle, I found the following to work for my RAMI’s magazines.

Depress the front of the top round down into the magazine and tap the bottom of the magazine. Once the said magazine is inserted into the magazine well, the rattle should be gone. If not, remove and repeat. This has worked consistently for me.

Found the links/threads and lots of opinions and solutions..will try some to try out. It probably needs to be shot more! At least glad to know it is not an isolated problem and is common. I won't worry about it much now. As always, thanks guys!!

My 10 round rattles and so does my 18 round mag for my SP-01. My P07 doesn't though but it's a different mag design.

If a magazine rattles, but feeds and functions, why is this an issue?
Just trying to understand.

I'll say it's annoying when you are walking around and it's making noise when you are trying to conceal a gun and mag.

IMHO out in the everyday world, no one can hear it. With all the noise around you, you are the only one that hears it, especially when you know it’s there. I had my wife try to hear it once, jumped around, walked around, did jumping jacks. She never could hear it, all it did was make her wonder if I’d finally lost it. Just my personal opinion.

You could just as easily be concealing a box of Tic Tacs. Nobody knows the difference.
