CGW Pro Upgrade Kit in my new ODG P-07...SWEEET!
« on: July 31, 2018, 07:42:59 AM »
Well against my better judgement, I jumped in with both feet and decided to install the CGW Pro Upgrade Kit myself.
Since this will be one of my 3 primary guns in the EDC lineup, had originally intended to just have my gunsmith do the install so I?d know it was done right.
After watching the awesome closeup & detailed YouTube videos from JoeMustang99 5 or 6 times, I felt pretty confident I could do the install myself. It went surprisingly smooth and am VERY pleased with the end results!  Now have a very smooth DA trigger pull of just barely over 8lbs and a SA weight of just over 3lbs. Normally don?t like to go below 4lbs on a defensive pistol but just dry firing it feels really great. It decreased the trigger take-up and reset by about half. VERY anxious to see how that translates at the range, will be heading there this afternoon hopefully to see.
The gun already shot fantastic in SA right out of the box  So much so, that I had no qualms selling my Wilson Combat EDC X9 which is an awesome gun of course, but in SA mode I was actually much more consistently accurate with the P-07 and factory night sights. Can?t wait to see how my accuracy stacks up factoring in the new first shot DA trigger pull.
Will be switching the sights (hopefully soon?) to the new Night Fision sights. If those continue to be delayed, just going with black rear and Fiber Optic front instead. The factory night sights are actually very good and bright in the dark, but a lot harder to quickly pick up front sight for my tired old eyes in the daytime.
If you?ve been on the fence about showing your P-07/P-09 some Cajun lovin?, just do it already, well worth the price. Transforms an already very good gun into a great gun!

BIG thanks to CGW and JoeMustang99!

Also did the job myself, broke the trigger in half while removing the pin, only problem I ran into. I did spend a few hours with sandpaper between 800 and 2500 grit to get some of the internals to a mirror polish before installing the kit

My CGW P07, is by far my favorite pistol.

My custom Hi Powers sit in the safe, because my CGW P07 is more accurate than a full house go for broke $4000 Hi Power.

Glocks sit in the safe, ugly little bitches that they are.

I had a terrifying incident this week. My CGW P07 in an accident at the office got covered in super glue.

Only the frame got hit, but it was covered in super glue, I was called into the room where the accident happened and responded fast enough to get the mag out and the slide off the frame. 2 hours working with Goof Off got the mag button working again, I was lucky that nothing hit the inside of the pistol.

Pistol is 100% functional, still has some super glue stains on it and will work to clean those off.

That sucks! What was he ?accident? with the super glue, and how did you get hit? Might want to try lightly using 0000 steel wool to blend the stains

There is super glue remover but that might damage the frame.

goof off will not change thew color of your frame. So if you ever have any accident with super glue get Goof Off;

P07 works great again, super glue didn't get inside the pistol nor did it hit the RMR.

So the P07 didn't even get sent down from being my carry pistol just had about 2 hours hard work
