A good trigger is nice.  A nice trigger is good.

A trigger may not make the rifle/pistol more accurate but it sure makes it easier for you to shoot accurately.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Primary Arms has Anderson lowers on sale for 29.99 for the next 72 hours

Wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up one or two more.  If this is your first AR, there will be more later.  Might as well get them while they're cheap and available.

Most of us have lived through panics before. Annoying as heck.

I just finished up my third "last AR15 build."  There's a reason they call it BRD (Black Rifle Disease).

Thank you all for your recommendations.

My wife didn't know yet that I stepped on AR-15 path :) She got used to my handguns and occasionally makes me a company on a shooting range, but AR-15 would be a total surprise for her.

BTW, I did some search on dedicated .22lr uppers, for some reasons they are even more expensive that 5.56 uppers or I haven't found any good deals on them. Why? May be because they are not so widespread and there are only several players on the market?

You can still get an AR15 barrel with a 1 turn in 12" barrel.  They aren't common, but sometimes I see them for sale.  The guys that want to build a "retro" AR15 that looks like the M16 used in Vietnam buy them to build clones of what they or their daddy carried over there.

That's not a 1 turn in 16" people recommend for .22 rim fires, but it's much slower than the common 1 turn in 7" or 8" most AR15 barrels have today.

Even with the 1 turn in 12" barrel you can still remove the .22 adaptor and shoot the 55 grain bullets still very common in .223 ammo today.

Any thoughts about .223 Wylde 1:9 twist? Would it be safe for 5.56 and accurate for both 5.56 and .223 rounds?
I suspect that with 1:9 twist it would be also more appropriate to 22lr than 5.56 1:7 twist.

.223 Wylde is considered safe for .223 or 5.56X45 ammo.

The 1 turn in 9" twist will be okay for just about any ammo but the heaviest bullets.  Fine for 55 and 62 grain surplus, store bought or reloaded ammo.  Some people say they get good accuracy out of 69 grain match bullets, too.  Some say they don't.  You'd just have to try it and see.

I'm going to the range tomorrow to zero my AR-15 build. This is the first time I will shoot it - so wish me good luck! :)

Complete lower assembly and BCG from Palmetto State Armory.
Complete upper assembly from Hardened Arms: .223 Wylde 1:8 twist midlength gas system, stainless steel

(Photos will follow)

And by the way PSA has now fantastic deals on dedicated .22lr uppers!

I used cheap bipod to zero my AR-15 on 25 yards. Here is my setup:

I put rubber covers on quad rail where I don't plan to attach accessories. Looks a bit bulky, but good for support hand.

When I started shooting I noticed that I'm hitting target way to high (I suppose sights were zeroed by default for 100 yards). So, it took several iterations to make it hit my target. I used 4" targets.

Finally, I detached bipod and shot this last one with support hand from the bench not using sand bags and rest.

Results are not impressive, but I'm satisfied, taking into consideration that
(a) it was my first time zeroing/shooting AR-15 rifle
(b) I was shooting with my "weak" eye (my cross-dominant eye was closed)
(c) I was experimenting with stock placement and support hand grip

Anyway, I happy that my groups are inside 3", I not always do this when shoot pistols from 7-10 yards.

Besides two double-feeding I'm happy with today's shooting, no recoil at all and very soft trigger. Shoot 100 rounds (.223 Rem Norma Tactical). Bolt was dirty like hell :)
