Underslung Pistol Lights & Lasers
« on: August 27, 2018, 12:43:49 PM »
Looking for recommendations for universal (not gun specific), accessory rail lights and lasers YOU HAVE USED and really liked. I want to put one on my P10, but it also needs to fit several other handguns as well.

For those who have used one, is a laser or a light or a combo unit more useful ?

I can afford almost anything, but I don't want to spend hundreds more just becasue I can ! So I don't want to buy something just becasue it got great magazine reviews. I'll be using this item on a daily basis , so I'm looking for those with long term experience.

I currently carry a S&W snub nose with a Crimson Trace grip laser. I must have had it 8-10 years and the original battery is still going strong. But the P10 is simply so fun to shoot and I can hit anything with it, so I'd like to convert.

Thanks in advance.

I have two TLR-1s (one on my P-10C and one on my scorpion pistol) and am very pleased with them.  I use a vortex venom on the scorpion and the light/red dot work very well together. I have fit them on several other weapons (1911, P-07, Glock) with no issues.  I have used lasers on guns before and have never really cared for them.  As always, YMMV.

Streamlight tlr2s flashlight laser combo is great if you want a combo.
I have one available for sale because I switched all my lights to Olight.
I jist prefer to use the same brand across the board

That is a great set up, as far as takeoff systems go. Obviously not as sturdy as the 'designed for' types but probably the best of its type.

I have TLR1, TLR3 and Olight PL mini Valkyrie lights on CZ's (and other handguns).  I haven't broken one yet.

Only issue I've had was with batteries.  Recoil of the .357 SIG M&P FS pistol would damage batteries.  Not the light itself (TLR1) but one of the batteries.  The light would fail to work, I'd pull the batteries, shake them, one would rattle (busted up inside).  Replace the noisy battery and if worked - until the next battery broke internally.  Probably a testament to the light, since the recoil would break the batteries but not the light.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I have an Olight PL Mini as well, I like that it's rechargeable. If it was for duty use, I'd probably buy something more expensive, but for HD it works just fine.

One thing I don't like about the TLR1 is having to remove the darn thing from the rail to replace the two batteries.  That's why I've never bought another one.
