For those who carry their CZ 75, How do you do it?
« on: September 15, 2018, 11:39:58 PM »
So it seems like there?s a few options to me:

Condition 1: Cocked and Locked
-I don?t know how secure the safety is.  Is it drop safe?

Condition 1: Loaded chamber, Hammer down.
-Is it drop safe?

Condition ?: Loaded Chamber, hammer partially cocked. No safety.

Correct me if I?m wrong on the conditions. I?ve never carried a CZ.  I haven?t decided if I actually will.

Thanks for any suggestions and insights.

"Condition ?" is the best way, especially with a de-cocker model. The safety notch keeps the hammer from being able to move forward without first moving back and the firing pin block in any of the "B" models makes them drop safe.

I carry mine cocked and locked, like I carry a 1911.  Been doing it so long that's just the best way for me.

The B models with a thumb safety also have the firing pin block (what the "B" stands for - block).  It blocks forward movement of the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled.  So even if the hammer were to fall (while the trigger was NOT being pulled) the pistol should not fire.  Even if it was dropped from some height on it's muzzle, inertia could not cause the firing pin to move forward against the firing pin return spring and make the pistol fire.

I never carry a pistol with an empty chamber.  You may not have time to rack the slide to the rear.  You many not be physically able (only able to use one hand, for some reason - injury? trying to keep someone from grabbing your gun?  carrying/dragging an injured person? who knows.)
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

I carry mine hammer down loaded for a DA first shot.

I don't carry any of my 75s...too big and heavy I but carry my RAMI (which has become my main carry piece) as described above.
