CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 sights
« on: September 22, 2018, 07:37:45 AM »
I would like to add a red dot, prism or a holographic sight. My problem is I have an astigmatism at close range. I've tried a few red dots and after a while the dot looks like hanging grapes, sometimes I see a dot with a line down to another dot. Then I tried a Vortex Spitfire AR Prism scope which I thought solved the problem but occasionally I see two reticles. The only type I have not tried is a holographic such as a EOTech does any know how these work with the Scorpion and with an astigmatism.

I thought I had astigmatism until I mounted a spitfire 3X on my Scorpion. Now? I think I was wrong.

Never had a fuzzy reticle. Hope it's not catching

Edit: Have you tried different rail mounting positions? Eye relief adjustment may yield a clearing up of your vision issue...?

Although I once owned a couple, I don't really have a SIGnature.

I too have astigmatism and have tried several different style of sights to see which one works best with my vision. Here's a few things that have helped me:

1) The smaller the reticle the better. A single small dot seems to work best for me. I do like the look of the ring and dot style reticles but in my experience no matter the brightness setting they look blurry/distorted.

2) Finding the right distance from my eye helps tremendously. The closer I can get the sight to my eye the clearer the reticle. It would be worth moving the sight on the rail to see if you can find the "sweet spot" for you.

I know everyone's vision is different so I don't know if this advice will help, but I certainly hope it does.

I never thought about number 2.  Will give it a try, thanks.
