Everything has been completed.
I really feel confident working on this gun now. YouTube videos, forum pics and posts, and just patience.
I had the trigger assembly installed last night. Pretty smooth process. Got to the point where I needed to remove hammer pins and disassemble sear last night, but went to bed because I didn't want to make a mistake.
Had a hard time punching out the hammer spring. I had to put the hammer assembly in the freezer to get the pins to shrink.
Woke up this morning and punched them out no problem.
Replaced pins with what I thought were the right pins. I'll let back to this later.
Assembled the rest of the gun and tricky part was resembling the sear and placing the springs in the correct location. A few YouTube video hints later and I was ready to go.
Went to the range and had decent success but the gun would hang up when day firing in double action.
I remembered that the pins I put in the hammer didn't fit right so I went home.
Ripped the gun apart except for the trigger.
Realized I had a bag with two hammer pins left untouched.
Doh
I tried installing the new pins and after about 30 minutes of frustration into the freezer they went.
45 minutes later I was on the basement floor pounding away to get the buggers installed.
Once in and assembled no problems were found.
Reset is short. Not as short as my legion but it's a firing pin n block gun so... Everyone said don't expect that they were right.
It's not bad, it's especially not bad when you're not slow firing, searching for the reset, and expecting it to be better than it is.
Once I shot it and found the improvements the reset is crisp and the trigger pull is smooth in double action and shirt light and crisp in single.
Weights are just less that 3lbs. 2.14 and just about 7.5 in double action.
I did some light polishing. 400/600/1200 grit polish on some spots. Probably could improve it but I'll shoot it first.
Using the blue trigger spring which is 13# I believe. I have been told I can use an 11 pound with the extended firing pin so I'll have to try that soon.
I'm certainly impressed. Especially with the reduce trigger reach.
Lots of adjustments that will need time to dial in.
I hope that with time and rounds down the pipe that the trigger weights lighten up. Only time will tell.
Let me know if you have any questions.
