CZ P-01 greatest conceal carry handgun I've yet to try.

I carry appendix or at 2:00 and my 1911 and Springfield XDE have come up short, too big and pokey and I'm a bit squeamish about condition 0/1 carry. Sig SP2022 is great but I can only carry it while hiking, as it is another digger.

Enter the P-01. Super comfortable as-is, crappy sights and all.  I easily carry it all day in condition 2. 14+1 with +P, nice to carry in a free state.

Where has this gun been all my life?

The P-01 is the 3rd and most recent handgun purchase for me. I own a 1911 and an SP-01. It was I instant love the moment I picked it up at the LGS. It just fit my hand like a tailored glove.

I don't conceal carry as I live in Los Angeles County (nearly impossible to get a CCW) so I cannot comment on that. But in all other aspects, the P-01 is exceptional. I just did a handgun tactical class and it ran like a champ. It was my first time really working DA shots.

The trainers and others in the class were impressed with my DA and follow up SA shots. I let them shoot my P-01 and they were all instantly in love with it. They were using Glocks, HK and Sigs. They couldn't get over how smooth and light the DA was. Also how balanced the gun feels in hand.

I an now selling my 1911 because I want to get the PCR. Should be really similar since it's almost the same frame. It will be for my wife to shoot.

I totally get what you mean about wanting the PCR. Just curious, does it have less recoil since it should weigh a bit more than the P-01?

If you could carry, would the P-01 be your go to? Did you make any mods?

Since the P-01 is my soon to be EDC after putting a couple thousand through it, I don't want to modify even the grips. I'm super paranoid about in the event of a defensive encounter some DA scrutinizing my customization choices.

Anything special about that 1911? I know the Colts are not on the roster anymore.

Being behind enemy lines, the CZ SP-01 is as good as it gets. Yes the factory Stevie Wonder sights are near useless, but some TFX fixed that issue.  I?d certainly like to carry a RAMI BD, but the decocker version is off roster.
