I?ve been toying with the idea of getting a CZ83 after handling a surplus one at a local gun store. I really liked the way it felt in my hand and the heft of the steel frame.
This morning when I woke up for whatever reason I decided to browse the used gun section at Kittery Trading Post. A couple of guns caught my eye that usually aren?t there, a 97BD and this:

A new unfired CZ 83 satin nickel finish vintage 2011. It literally looks like someone bought it and put it in the safe right away. Has the original box and all the paperwork including the test target.
Hopped in my car and took the hour ride to Kittery and took a look at it. I paid $395 which based on the price I?ve seen for some of the surplus ones isn?t that bad I?m figuring. Hiya 2tango2 and thx for your thread. Every new gun day is a good day,but a 12year old new gun day appears even better. I was fortunate to have caught on of the last batchs of 2012's. Not to many projects needed,a competition hammer,short reset and lighten the DA/SA,marchel wood grips and good to go. And glad to see you got a good deal,on the safe queen. Hope the factory lube kept the rust off everything. A little snappy when feeding it +p,but very accurate for 7yds. Congrats,and hope you have similar fortune running across the 97 also. Be well.

Congrats on the satin nickel. That?s a nice deal all around. You?ll see some recent posts in the sub-forum about the correct magazines and other spare parts to pickup, as well as sources. Looks like the factory is finally putting the CZ 82/83 into the history books. The factory store is not getting anymore parts from what I?ve been told as the main business lies elsewhere from these older pistols.

You will probably want to get extra magazines. CZ-USA sells factory mags for the vz82/CZ83. Some dealers have the actual vz82 surplus magazines (marked with the crossed swords). Both of these options are good, with the real surplus vz82 magazines being much less expensive. Avoid the "CZ mfg" so-called factory magazines sold by a number of online retailers - they suck.

I just bought 3 from Jestice. They are the real deal. They even had a surplus vz82 shoulder holster in stock when I ordered mine.

That looks great! I put wood grips on mine, the plastic cracked so I didn't want them further damaged. The eBay grips I bought (Thailand I think) needed some minor fitment tweaks, but they're a great look and feel. Love the nickel finish. I'm am more accurate with this pistol than any other I have! Moving target at 60+ feet, I ring the plate almost every shot. Got stopped for shooting across the lanes though. Was great fun while I could. Hope you like yours as well as I do mine!
I treated mine with Eezox, seems Stainless and Nickel clean up much easier with it, at least in my CZ gear.
