Is the weight difference really noticeable on the steel frame compact compared to the alloy frame compact?
I have a chance to pick a compact steel frame for a great price but I don't really want a super heavy gun.
Thanks

A steel frame compact is hefty, the the ones with a rail actually weigh more than a full size 75b

I would say : YES
However it depends, how you feel gun in your hand, how you grip the gun.
Weight difference between alu and steel frame is about 5oz - 6 oz. Is it much?
For me it was. I've shot polymer PPQ (22 oz.) and decided to switch it for heavier pistol. Steel CZ75 Compact's weight was too much for me (about 33 oz.).
My choice now is alu CZ P-01 (about 28 oz.) and that's the weight I love.
So from my perspective the weight difference is really noticeable.

My CZ75 Compact Steel 9mm (99021) with mag empty weighs 38.12oz

My measurements were done WITHOUT magazine and WITH stock polymer guide rods.

I bought it even though it's just a tad heavier that my PCR and P01. Also bought a new P-07 OD.
Thanks for your input guys! (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191112/25288a04f30bd4a3dacbed67d63ae317.jpg)

Sweet! You are going really enjoy those :D
I love all of my CZ’s but carry my steel compact most since it’s what I seem to shoot best.

I don’t really notice the weight difference between my steel P-01 and my P-07 when carrying - or shooting.

PERFECTION, glock19er! 8)

The steel frame is my favorite to shoot. I like the weight.

Same here. I can't tell what's on my hip till I pull it out of the holster. Then what I notice is the feel of the grooves in the front/rear of the frame on the P01. It's not the weight.
The only time I notice the weight is when I'm cleaning them and I field strip the P01. When I pick the frame up to clean it I realize it's "light" and think, yeah, P01, aluminum, and then go on with the cleaning.

I think the steel-framed Compact is noticeably heavier than the alloy-framed models. After carrying one for a while, I realized that it wasn't that much smaller or lighter than a full-size model.
I continue wonder why CZ doesn't offer an full-size alloy-framed 75B -- I think that might be the best of both designs for man shooters, and would certainly be strong competition for the SIG P-series guns, most of which have alloy frames. An alloy-framed semi-compact (full-size frame and compact slide would be an interesting option, too. Some might prefer a shorter grip and a longer slide, so that would be a different type of semi-compact, but I haven't seen or heard of one of THOSE variants.
CZ has slipped out a couple semi-compacts in steel, and a forum member had one some years ago; he may still have it.

The steel frame compact feels a lot heavier to me. I've got two, one railed and one non railed. They both are excellent shooters, but the p 01 omega is a lot easier to carry. And the p 10c is even easier to carry than the omega.
Looks like you bought a steel. Time to start looking for an alloy frame so you can decide for yourself which you prefer.

I really do not notice the weight difference between a steel framed P-01 and the polymer framed P-07 when carrying concealed.

Same here. I usually only notice the difference in weight when they are field stripped and I pick the frame up. Then it hits me how light the aluminum frame feels.
Some CZ75 Compacts look like P01's but have steel frames.

After that production run CZ turned around and shipped out a bunch of compacts labeled P01 on the slide but still used that steel/railed P01 looking frame.
CZ - they do different things and mix it up much more than other gun companies.

Mine is also a Czech made in 2003, no manual safety, a decocker and alloy frame.

I have completely given up on the idea of “figuring out” CZ’s entire lineup as it stands at this moment. Forget about figuring out it’s historical stuff.
