Have been searching hi and low for some 147gr 9mm Bullets, so I can build a cheaper "Range" substitute for the 147gr HydraShok I carry when I'm carrying 9mm
Everyone's either "out of stock" or have a 6-12 week lead-time on shipping ! ! !
From the Cheapo-Cheapos to the High-end FMJ or JHP Bullets
In my search, I came across DG Bullets (Dang Good)
Their Bullets are a 92-6-2 alloy, coated with Hi-Tek Supercoat:
https://dgbullets.com/
Their Website says:
"Some orders are still shipping same or next day; however, some orders may experience 1-2 week delays", so I thought I'd give THEM a try
500, 9mm 147gr FP .... $44.00 shipped
Placed the order the evening of the 15th and received them today .... not too shabby !
Loaded 100 Rounds, Win Cases and Primers with 5.1gr of AA#5
Don't own a Chrono, so I won't be able to go there, but I will try to see just how accurate these are

Check out BBI. bullets out of Tennessee. You’ll get your bullets within a week or less. You have a choice of either UPS (quicker and more reliable) or USPS (hit or miss) for shipping.

Last time I tried a sample pack from BBI, the coating had lots of voids. Maybe it was a one off, but it was enough for me not to go back. Incidentally, their website says they've stopped shipping USPS due to scanning issues.

The USPS is have big problems with delivery. Use a provider with anyone BUT the Post Office and you're likely to get your shipment at least several days faster.

Been waiting for a shipment from South Carolina that shipped via UPS Freight on the 13th
Been tracking it daily
It arrived at their Salt Lake / West Valley Terminal Sunday @ 18:11PM
IT'S STILL SITTING THERE after 36 hour, not out for delivery !
Called UPS
"It will be delivered tomorrow, between 1 and 5"
"Why, you've had it for 36 hours"
"We're crazy busy"
"AND"
"You'll see it tomorrow between 1 and 5"
"But UPS Tracking shows TODAY by 9:00PM"
"You gotta understand, we've been real busy, you'll see it tomorrow between 1 and 5"
"You've had this on your Dock for over 36 hours, why isn't it being delivered TODAY between 1 and 5 ? It's not 5 yet, hell, it's not even 1 YET, and you're less than an hour up the Road from me"
"We've been really busy, you should see it .... so if you want it today, COME GET IT or you'll see it tomorrow between 1 and 5 !" CLICK ! ! !
Yeah, UPS ...

Had problems with all of them.
Anyway, DG is out of stock on what I wanted and even what I was interested in.
BBI had 230 grain .45 bullets in stock so I ordered some of those.
Might be awhile before I can try them though, need to work through what I've got opened up right now first (230 grain LRN from Summers Enterprises - who currently show about everything out of stock).

Seems that everyone's about equal in price, +/- $0.005 per Tex Coated Bullet
Guess it falls back on selection, availability, and Lead Time

T&B has plenty of their polymer coated 32 cal RN in stock.
Maybe you guys should consider another caliber ! O0

I loaded up about 4k worth of DG 9mm 135 RN bullets back in July. Loaded them with 3.5 and 3.7 grains of Sport Pistol, didnt get a chance to chrono them so no idea on speed. Anyways, not all impressed. They leaded my PCR so bad that I couldnt see the rifling after about 3-4 mags. Same thing with my P09, MP9C and Shield.
They mic'ed out at .356. I've used ACME bullets before, 135 RN also mic'ed at .356 with no problems.
Also bought 1k of 40 S&W 180 gr. The ogive is down inside the case at about 1.125-1.135

Now that's discouraging !
Thought they said that the Hi-Tex Coating was suppose to prevent Leading ... not promote it !

It all depends on condition of the coating during the reloading process. If the coating is damaged while reloading, it’ll expose the lead to the hot gases during firing.
Not having enough flare, crooked bullets during the seating process and thin or uneven coating are just some of the reasons for leading in barrels.
-
I had lead fouling issues with ACME, BBI, Gallant and one or two other brands that I don't recall. This was only with my CZ pistol barrels and was cured when I switched from .356 to .357.

That is interesting, something is off that's for sure. I have loaded/shot thousands of Summers/Gallant's & my buddies powder coated bullets with 0 issues in any of my CZ's. All are sized @ .356. Aside from destroying or totally scrapping off the coating even with a Brinell Hardness of 18 I wouldn't think they would lead even if they were uncoated lead, I never had an issue with my buddies bullets before we started PC them and they were in that same hardness zone. Interesting to say the least. :o

I live close to Waupaca,WI where DGBullets is located so pick them up myself, had zero leading problems with the 9mm 115gr coated bullets, very accurate even with my "older" eyes, plus it's "buy local", just sayin'.

A good friend would pick us all up some bullets.
Just saying. O0

I fixed that for you!

Same here for my Scorpion, and a few non CZ guns - need .357 coated. For my TargetII - it needs .358, but that causes other issues.

Ordered those 230 grain LRN on the 20th. Got an e-mail yesterday they'd been shipped. Checked tracking this morning and they claim I should get the bullets Monday. Mailman probably won't be too happy. 63 lbs. of bullets to carry to the front porch. Wait, checked again - 68 lbs. total shipped weight.
