When in stock you can get Mec-Gar mags (different baseplate than OEM but they work and look just fine) here for $25:

Still out of stock but on the list!
I just bought a 97 (don't even have it yet) but it seems NO ONE has any mags for it in stock...
There is 1 on ebay for like $98, but more than I am willing to pay for a $42 magazine...
Anyone know of any in stock anywhere?
Thanks,
JAG

EAA/Tanfo .45 large frame mags will work. I just did a quick search. CheaperTheDirt has them in stock.

Cheaper than dirt is a horrible company, Id avoid that sh!thole company at all costs!!!

Yes CTD is pretty bad - famous for playing the game of setting the highest price the market will bear - they also used to be a real rip off on shipping - I haven't bought anything from them since the 1990s' when they had some deal on 1911 magazines, I think I ordered 3 and 2 were bad out of the box.
I put my email address in all the other websites to be notified when they will be back in stock, I am sure some will show up again eventually.
I will continue to look on ebay and gunbroker as well.
Thanks,
JAG

will they work - maybe
I have a couple of the Tanfoglio marked large frame .45 mags and they do not reliably lock in the CZ 97. It might be possible to trim enough off of the tops of the baseplate to get sufficient clearance for proper lockup, but I just keep them with the Witness Match .45 instead.

I received an email from Greg Cote yesterday saying he had the mec-gars in stock. I ordered a couple plus the factory base plates.

I have a few of the EAA 101450 mags. Judging by the pics I see on the net, they were revised at one point. One version shows an orange follower with a CZ 97ish base plate. The ones I got about a month ago have black followers and the same type of base plate as the Mec-gar mags.
All 3 mags, factory 97, Mec-gar and EAA look the same, black follower, mag body, and stamping. I did email Mec-gar and they said they do indeed make the EAA 101450 mags.
Now I have not had a chance to run actual ammo through the EAA mags, but just dry running them through my 97, they drop free and lock the slide back.

The Tanfoglio mags I am referring to have plastic baseplates with "Tanfoglio" molded in.

Do yours look like this one?

the corner view does, but the side view is about life size on my monitor and has the witness hole spacing isn't the same (possibly a distorted aspect ratio to their image). My follower is more red than orange.

I have some of the EAA. They are 100% identical to factory CZ except for the baseplate and function perfectly. Typically $27.
