I noticed the the thumb rest on on the TS2 Green / Bronze looks about the same as the TSO. I'd like to know if any existing TSO mounts will also work for the TS2. For example something like this CZC optic side mount:
https://czcustom.com/products/red-dot-mounting-pistols/multi-optic-side-scope-mount.html (https://czcustom.com/products/red-dot-mounting-pistols/multi-optic-side-scope-mount.html)
Could someone with some calipers and a TS2 Green verify if the screw holes match?
-
If they didn't it would be (to me) a horrible blunder. But now that you ask it's best to verify. I suspect CZC and CJW would get the answer quickly
-
I just emailed both CGW and CZC asking if they planned on offering frame mounted optics plates for TS2s. I noted that the CGW site says their TSO plate won't work on TS2s so I'm assuming CZC's plate won't work either. We'll see what they say. I'm kinda interested in picking up a TS2 Green but my aging eyes are all about dots now.
-
Hmm I wonder if they where only talking about the TS2 blue?
Toni System might be another option. They're Italian but you can find US importers.
-
Just got this from CZC. It is the same pattern so maybe CGW is just referring to the Blue TS2.🤔
"It's the same mounting pattern. So frame mount will fit the factory mounting
area. If basic TS2, we can mill the pocket and mount our frame mount."
-
Good news then. The TS2 Green is looking even more tempting now ;D
-
But then you’ll need the bronze
-
Does the TS2 Green have a recess on the frame for the thumbrest like the TSO? I want to put a side mount for the red dot on my Blue TS2 and can do the drilling and tapping. I do see that the plate (so therefore the red dot) mounting area will not be centered over the slide/bore. It will be off to the left as the Blue TS2 does not have the milled area on the frame. I assume the Vortex Venom will adjust to center as it has 100 MOA adjustment for windage.
Any thoughts?
Good news then. The TS2 Green is looking even more tempting now ;D

I think it does. Here is a pic comparing the the TS2 vs TSO. Looks to have the same 3 holes (3rd is hidden under the thumbrest). Definitely there is a recess on the TS2, the line on the slide angles in near the thumbrest. I think they're the same, and this goes with what CZC said as well:

Yes, it does. I was not planning on getting one but I think I've changed my mind. Gotta feed the CZ addiction.🤣

Okay, so something just occurred to me out of the blue and I looked into this as much as I could...and maybe I'm just fixating...but it seems that there'd be an issue if using the existing side-mount Czechmate/Orange optics riser. Even though the cutouts on the frame are the same hence the same thumb rests will fit, it looks like because of the wider/tapered profile of the TS2's slide, there will be contact and rubbing against the mount if it even cycles.
Here, compare the slide-to-frame width between the TSO (L) and TS2 (R).....

So when the CZ optics slide plate is mounted to the Czechmate/Orange's cutout in the frame, there's a tiny bit of clearance between its vertical inside edge/surface and the left side of the slide.....
But when you look at the TS2's slide profile, its flared out bottom extends almost flush with the frame's slides.
Fine for the thumb rests as none of them extend above the cutout in the frame, or if you were using a plate with no cutout on the frame. But if you look on the TS2 Green, it would seem that there's no extra clearance between the slide 'edge' and the 'plane' of the thumb rest cutout.....

So if you use the side-mount optics riser, it looks like there's definitely going to be some contact between the slide and the optics plate...

I don't know if this was an oversight by CZ, or if the new TS2 was never intended to be used with an optics riser like the previous Czechmate/Orange. I guess one could file a little clearance into the riser in that area fairly easily, but I find it weird if that was somehow missed during design and production of this model. Unless as I alluded, it may never have been intended for an optics plate, or purposely not to have one....at least the existing Czechmate/Orange ones.
I was just about to buy one of these too, but if I can't use my optics riser like on my Orange without modification, it'll be a pass for now. Stuart if I'm wrong about this, or if you know there's clearance please chime in, Thx.

All good points ^. Adding a spacer between the mount and frame might be the solution.
Also a good video comparing dimensions between the two:

Or just doing a little filing on the inside surface of the riser where it clears the frame. But most likely they'll come out with a mounting plate specific for the TS2 Green/Bronze with that clearance machined in, and/or for a new version of the Czechmate based on the TS2.
Only thing with a spacer is it could bring the plate/red dot a little off center to the left if the frame width and cutout dimensions are the same for both pistols (which I assume since they seemingly share slide stops, safeties and mag release). Maybe just a tiny amount that could be zeroed back in, but still.
****
ETA: Confirmed by Stuart in Enos Forum - the slide overhangs the cutout a bit, so a spacer/relief or a new design will be needed to work.
Good to know as I was just about to go buy one of these. If new mounts come out down the road, then it's on.

Wow, good info and good sleuthing!
I just bought a 2016 TSO to work on (incredibly rare find in my neck of the woods - couldn't resist) so my TS2 buying plans are on indefinite hold for now.

Hey all, new here. Sweating on which TS2 model to buy. Being a lefty a gas pedal is useless to me but I do like the opportunity to mount an optics bracket at a later date if I choose to. The three holes on the Racing Green receiver, can you tell me if all three are threaded from the factory.
Regards Rich

Hey, in case that here might be some Europeans without the option of buying the modified CZC mount. I just got a used Racing Green and liked to use a Shield RMSX scope on it. So I ordered a Czechmate Scope Mount from Toni System and filed a matching edge into the inner mounting side to get enough clearance for the upper slide. After planning every thing worked just fine:
