Okay, so something just occurred to me out of the blue and I looked into this as much as I could...and maybe I'm just fixating...but it seems that there'd be an issue if using the existing side-mount Czechmate/Orange optics riser. Even though the cutouts on the frame are the same hence the same thumb rests will fit, it looks like because of the wider/tapered profile of the TS2's slide, there will be contact and rubbing against the mount if it even cycles.
Here, compare the slide-to-frame width between the TSO (L) and TS2 (R).....
So when the CZ optics slide plate is mounted to the Czechmate/Orange's cutout in the frame, there's a tiny bit of clearance between its vertical inside edge/surface and the left side of the slide.....
But when you look at the TS2's slide profile, its flared out bottom extends almost flush with the frame's slides.
Fine for the thumb rests as none of them extend above the cutout in the frame, or if you were using a plate with no cutout on the frame. But if you look on the TS2 Green, it would seem that there's no extra clearance between the slide 'edge' and the 'plane' of the thumb rest cutout.....
So if you use the side-mount optics riser, it looks like there's definitely going to be some contact between the slide and the optics plate...
I don't know if this was an oversight by CZ, or if the new TS2 was never intended to be used with an optics riser like the previous Czechmate/Orange. I guess one could file a little clearance into the riser in that area fairly easily, but I find it weird if that was somehow missed during design and production of this model. Unless as I alluded, it may never have been intended for an optics plate, or purposely not to have one....at least the existing Czechmate/Orange ones.
I was just about to buy one of these too, but if I can't use my optics riser like on my Orange without modification, it'll be a pass for now. Stuart if I'm wrong about this, or if you know there's clearance please chime in, Thx.
