I wonder how these would load in 9mm. I can't take their HPs out past 1.05" in my 75B, and these don't look to have the same ogive as the 124 RN.

I have loaded and shot Berry's 130gr RN, .356 in my 75B from the Berry's sample pack..
They shot very well with the 128-130PF loads I use. I just never saw a significant benefit from using them vs the 124HBR-TP UNTIL NOW>
I just now ordered more from Berry's "Available Bullets" Sight .

I'm sorry to hear that and know the feeling. Stay alert and you'll hit soon.
PV and MG are apparently the most likely sources to come into some stock for popular jacketted bullets. Midway occassionally gets primers.

Old Rocket, I'll give a personal opinion at the risk of blasphemy :o: I think the bullet loads too short. The ones I tried in the sample box shot fine, but nothing to get excited about. The 124 HBFP can be loaded a little longer, but appears to do best at a short oal similar the HP. The flat point shoots better for me in my gun.
There's nothing really wrong with it, it just is what it is.

If any of you guys reload .223, Natchez Shooters Supply has Hornady V-Max 55 Grain W/C in stock for 11.99 per 100 bag, 10 bag per day limit. That's a pretty good price considering PVI is selling the same bullets for 14.80/bag. Shipping via DHL Post (basically the post office) was 15.99, so basically about 10 bucks cheaper than what I paid at PVI last night. I am now stocked for the whole summer :)

Reviews indicate that they are not the most consistent bullets around, but if you don't have any, I think better than nothing...

Edit to add...they also have Remington 115 9mm and Hornady 147 9 bullets available...for now. Again, not buying any of these myself as my safe is full, just letting you guys know.

No primers/ powder
There were 3 boxes if hirnady 150 FMJBT. And about 6 other .308 flavors. The die area was full as well as the plastic ammo boxes.

I've been able to find useful powders and bullets at the local Billings Scheel's and Big R. Cabela's is mainly a wash except for small pistol primers. This is mainly for rifle components. Rifles are FAR more important than handguns and rifles get shot about 10:1 ratio or more in my shooting, which is often at real things and not paper targets. Big R had Hornady .224 75 HPBT in stock and IMR 8208 XBR powder, a good combination. Also picked up some IMR SR 4756 for pistol. Scheels had Hornady 7mm 162 A-Max in stock and several useful powders, including 8# kegs. Big Bear had Speer 7mm 160 SPBT bullets and Federal primers. All this stuff is good for windy Montana prairie shooting, which is what I do mainly.
Cases and bullets for most handguns are in short supply. Shotgun ammo is abundant. .22LR is almost nonexistent on shop shelves. Except that I have ammo cans full of assorted .22LR already, and have always been that way for decades.
I have big coffee cans full of primed 9mm brass ready to load, and assorted bullets, and over a couple thousand loaded rounds of various types. That's the way you are SUPPOSED to be stocked up at all times. Quite simply, if you are anything but a youngster just starting out, you have no reasons for running out of ammo and reloading components. You do NOT shoot up everything you have and then expect to find what you need on the shelves, even when there is no gun ban scare going on. Except if what you are shooting is a fun gun and of no real importance.
I could run out of pellets for my Sheridan .20 cal air rifle and not be worried. I could shoot a patched BB if I had to. Or a round lead shotgun pellet. It would get all the birds and rabbits a person could eat, and keep the garden and attic free of pests (variable power, you can shoot varmints inside the house and not hurt the house). But since I have several thousand pellets for that rifle as well, I'm not hurting.
If you can't find some pistola boolits and other stuff, get yourself a Benjamin or Sheridan PCP pump air rifle for under $200 and go knock off birds, bunnies, squirrels and assorted pests for a while. These little air rifles made by Crosman these days are powerful enough to require a firearms certificate in the UK before they can be legally owned. Out in the small game hunting field, the Benjamin and Sheridan air rifles are far deadlier than your pistola. I shot hundreds of small game animals with my Benjamin .22 cal air rifle as a kid, sometimes dozens of them per day. And get a Williams peep sight for it. The open sights are rather trashy, and the Williams is more accurate and fully adjustable. H&N (Beeman) Baracuda (Kodiak), JSB, Benjamin round nose, and Crosman Premier round nose are what you use if you want to hit what you aim at, and it will rival ANY .22LR at any price at close range as far as accuracy goes.
There is simply NOTHING else in the world as accurate, deadly, versatile, affordable, high quality, dependable and downright cheap to shoot, as well as legal to shoot inside this town as the Benjamin and Sheridan PCP pump air rifles. Since the 1960's there has usually been a Benjamin or Sheridan air rifle in my closet, except during military service. My ENTIRE repair expense so far has been to replace a pump seal in my Sheridan Blue Streak, which cost me $1.50 and 15 minutes to install myself,, most of the time spent rounding up common tools. Pyramid Air sells kits to restore old Benjamin and Sheridan air rifles for $30. Most of the time, all you need is the pump seal and bolt o-ring seal. The bolt o-ring can be bought at a hardware store for under a buck. So if you get an old Benjamin or Sheridan for almost nothing, it costs you $30 plus S&H to bring it up to like-new operating condition, and it will outshoot ANY break barrel air rifle as far as accuracy goes, with virtually no kick and recoil inaccuracies.
So there you have your weapon and shooting components in stock at some place in your local area. My friend bought a NEW Benjamin 392 for his son for $150 at Academy Sports, and they are glad I steered them away from the trashy imported break barrel air rifles which are as obsolete as a Model T car.

I hear ya. Stopped by there today, they had prolly 80k primers on the shelf. Picked up a box of spp for 60(ouch) and a lb of power pistol for 30 which I think is about normal. I'm now set til everything blows over.

Not trying to go off topic, but I did go to a gun show today (Wilmington, NC) and ammo was at all 3 tables that were seling ammo. Cheapest 9mm was $18/box 50. Saw all calibers, 38, 40, 45, 9mm etc. as well as 5.56 and others for rifles. 22lr was even there but $45-60 per 500rnds, $5.50 per 50. We may be getting over the hump. No one selling primers or powder.

I'd recommend the HBRN.
The HP's need to be loaded pretty short in a CZ.

I received the case of 3,750, 125 gr. 357 Sig bullets yesterday that I ordered last week from Montana Gold. They managed to get 68.5 pounds of bullets into a medium flat rate box, so my mail carrier left a notice for my to pick them up at the Post Office. She has pretty bad arthritis in her hands, so I don't mind helping her by picking up the heavier packages at the Post Office.
These bullets will work equally well in 9x19 and 357 Sig, along with 9x25 Dillon and .38 Super. I've used them before in those calibers and they shot very well.

Fred, what's the "difference" between these 357 Sig bullets and the 9x19 of the same bullet type and weight. Length, ogive, diameter or what?
The Zeros in 357 Sig 125gr JHP have tempted me several times.

Bullets intended for 357 Sig have a slightly shorter ogive and longer bearing surface, which makes them better suited to the short neck of the 357 Sig case. I've used them in the other calibers by simply seating just short of the leade for the other barrels. Of course, I work up the loads for each one, but it normally doesn't take much experimentation to get what I'm looking for in accuracy and velocity.

Just opened the box from Midway. First .22lr ammo I've been able to get that will likely work in my High Standard. Federal Auto-Match, 40gr LRN, 1200 fps.
I've never shot these before. Next range trip will give them a try-out, and hopefully will be back looking for a reasonably larger supply---. :(

My friend has a manufacturers license (Class 7) and gets his primers directly from Federal. Two weeks ago he received 20 cases each of small pistol and large pistol. He sold them all in two days at $138 a case for the SP and $149 a case for the LP. These were ordered in February, and it was a partial shipment. He still has 300,000 Federal primers on back order. He also said this is the first time Federal has charged a different price for the LP primers, as all metallic primers have been the same price in the past, except for the Match primers.
He's also starting to get a little bit of powder in, 8 kegs of Bullseye and 8 kegs of American Select, but it's all spoken for. He and I only order 8 pound kegs, so it's all the same lot number for a larger number of rounds.

380, 9x18 mak (.365, listed as 380 on there website though), 9mm, .38, .40, .41, .44, .45 ALL in stock at Cabelas. I just ordered dies & starline brass for loading 9x18mak for my CZ82. They sold out of the last of the .365 bullets like Sat night & I was disappointed since I had everything else I needed. These just came back in stock today, so I would be quick if you guys need anything. I don't post here much but I do own 3 CZs so try to remember about you guys, as this board has good people as well. I mainly stay active over on ar15.com where this is also cross posted, so I really expect supplies to go quick with those people, if any of you cross post over there, you know what i'm talking about.

Yes I was reading around after they just sold out Saturday and couldn't find anything super recent but what i did find was that either Berry's makes them when demand for other calibers is low(er) or they have ceased production entirely. I don't think they are currently making them but then that wouldn't make sense of how Cabelas just listed more 2-3 days after selling out unless they had them stockpiled. From what I read multiple people have sent Berry's emails on this with no answer. What I can promise though is .365 diameter bullets are for loading 9x18 mak. .355 are for 9mm/380. They have them listed incorrectly on there website though which is why I noted that. I will let you guys know what shows up at my door in the next few days.

Sorry guys for the confusion in my post. Cabela's is slack. Not paying attention to what they post on there website. The 380 bullets that are listed as .365 diameter are actual 380 bullets & are .356 diameter. Someone got the 2 numbers confused & never fixed it. I am returning them as I need 9x18 mak bullets (.365 diameter). Anyone know where to get any that are plated? I would prefer to not use cast lead ones if possible.

Wow I was driving by my local cabellas on Saturday. They had a huge stock of small and large pistol primers and a bunch if small rifle. I got the last box of large rifle.
9mm bullets were mostly Berry's 115. But just about something of every flavor. I wasn't expecting much when I went in....oh and primers were priced at 39.99.

It looks like it was a bunch of Ramshot at PVI. They have some Silhouette left. Not much else for pistol shooters. If you haven't noticed with PVI, they have Ramshot divided into three different tables for rifle, pistol, and shotgun, and of course you need to look at the bottom two tables -- pistol and shotgun -- for pistol powders.

Huh. Well, their Facebook post last Friday where they announced the shipment had a bunch of responses yesterday saying "so where's the powder?" then a number of people who said they had gotten powders I'm not familiar with, plus one person that had gotten Power Pistol. As far as Ramshot goes, I looked on Friday and they had no Silhouette or Comp, which is what I think of as their pistol powders, but they did have Silhouette when I looked this morning.

I went into Walmart a few days ago for some .270 and was pleasantly surprised. Rifle ammo was well-stocked. Pistol ammo -- they had a small stock of most calibers but with only one choice of ammo for those calibers. I noticed no .22, but I wasn't looking for it. Between Walmart's stocks building back up and the fact that N320 has managed to stay in stock at PVI for SIX DAYS straight now, I'm starting to relax a little. PVI had a Varget for a little while the other day, as well. Maybe some day someone will produce a blurry photo of a Solo1000 sighting. ;)

First part of your statement is correct but I would always call, they are really great people to work with and they sometimes make exceptions due to product on hand. They have more on hand supplies for walk in customers, I never had a shortage of powder or primers.

I spent over an hour today setting up my press, culling nickel cases, and 'tuning' my disk system for perfect loads with my 300 Hornady 124 XTPs that should arrive tomorrow.
Fred: I hate sorting brass, since it takes so long, but I also hate to see good brass go to the recycler, even though they're paying good prices for it right now.
Do you use the sorting screens? I hand sort 9mm headstamps, but would definitely use the screens to sort calibers.

Where I live it's the burial ground for elephants. The average age of our club members is over 50, and there are 900 of us in the club. I'm going to be 70 next summer and this is becoming a chore. I'd rather be reloading and shooting........

Just a heads up. My partner in the bullet casting business is also my supplier for a lot of the components I buy. He received an e-mail from Federal today that they aren't taking orders for primers the rest of the year, and probably into the first of next year. They are so backordered they can't catch up.
His last order for 250,000 Small Pistol primers, which was placed last July, resulted in Federal shipping him 50,000 later this week, and said that was all there would be. He has an ammunition manufacturers license and buys directly from Federal and places orders for about a million primers a year with them, but this year he's only gotten about 200,000 total, with no expectation of getting the rest of the order.
The bottom line is, don't look for this draught to end very soon. It's going to be interesting to hear what's happening at the SHOT Show in January.............

$40 per 1000 box is pretty much what they are going for around here and all I can get right now are the Magtech Primers, which have been fine.

MagTech primers are almost as sensitive as Federal primers. I've loaded and shot about 30,000 of them in Small Pistol and Large Pistol, and have yet had one not go off. These are in tuned revolvers and rifles for SASS matches that won't reliably set off CCI primers, or even Winchester primers.
My "go to" primers are Federal, with MagTech next. Winchester for semi-auto pistols and rifles, along with Remington and CCI, in that order.

Rocky Mountain Reloading has "blemished" 124grn RN plated bullets for $77/1000.
They claim that only 1-2% of each batch is blemished, and that the small, hairline cracks really don't hurt the bullet's performance. They must have a bulldozer load because they are selling these in 1000, 2000, 7000, and 21,000 count lots.
These are perfect bullets for beginner reloaders.

Actually these are very good bullets and you can't beat the price. I was trying to get samples out to reloaders to experience the results I had and stock up if they so desire to. I really haven't seen a blemished bullet yet but just might be my eyes ;D

My supplier had over a million Federal primers ordered in 2013, directly from Federal. He only got about 400,000, and then Federal advised him in October that they couldn't fill the rest of his order, and they weren't taking any new orders until after the first of the year. They just can't keep up with demand, since there is only so much manufacturing capacity. They also supply primers to other manufacturers, such as Hornady and myriad smaller companies.

Federal primers are the lightest strike primers on the market. If the firing pin hits it, it goes bang when others do not. It's the "only" primer that has both a soft cup AND still has a minute amount of Nitro-glycerin in the primer formula.
Winchesters are fairly good. CCI is the hardest cup available from the U.S. The Russian primers need a sharp nail hit by a 5# hammer to 'mostly' fire. ;D O0

OK, Thanks for the info. I have used CCI in my CZ, Rugers both LPP and SPP, and Baretta, and now my Savage .300 LRP and have yet to have one not fire. Now I know if I ever have a gun I get light strikes with I will look for Winchester.

The lower your trigger pull is, the more chance of light strikes....I didn't have any with my CGW kit3 hammer and an 11.5# MS. Installed the CZ Comp hammer and started having 1 light strike per match w/CCIs, and that's a no-go. I have a Shadow on order and requested a trigger job. Federal primers will be in my Match loads, other primers will go to practice rounds.
My new "coach" told me that at least once a month, maybe twice, that I will be shooting 1k round sessions, so....gotta be prepared!

Would that be a Hammer spring or trigger spring. I put a lighter hammer spring in my Beretta is at 3# and my 45 is at 4 1/2 and no light strikes. They are both hammer fired though.

Hammer spring gives the hammer the energy to hit the primer. Trigger spring resets the trigger forward after the pull.
Lightly sprung (Hammer spring/mainspring) guns are easier to shoot accurately (for most). At some point, reducing the hammer spring weight may make the hammer hit too lightly to fire the primer. Back to why Federals are preferred for those with lightly sprung guns. This is especially noted in competition DA revolvers.

Their primer boxes are pretty large, so you need to watch where you're walking, Wobbly.......
It's going to be hit and miss on primers for awhile. I just ordered 50,000 S&B small pistol primers from Widener's to try out. They were $125.00 a case, plus HazMat and shipping, and they would ship the 50,000 under one HazMat fee.

I'm not concerned one bit about the size of Federal's primer packaging, since it's done for a good reason. I was commenting on Wobbly's post that he "tripped over them".

The reason for the large packaging is to provide more separation between the individual primers. That way, there is less chance of sympathetic detonation if one goes off for any reason. Federal is also using a different priming compound that is more sensitive, so they've erred on the side of caution in their packaging.
Many years ago, they had a detonation in their plant when an employee shook a container of primers and it went off. The employee was badly injured, so Federal isn't going to take any chances.
Two years ago I showed the Federal reps at the SHOT Show some primers in the old wooden trays they used to package them in. You would have thought I showed them a poisonous spider, as they all backed away and said, "please don't shake that box", which I wasn't about to do anyway. They're pretty gunshy about their primers going off unintentionally.....

I received my order of 50,000 S&B primers from Widener's this past week and got a chance to test them. They're good primers. I tested them in 6 different guns and they all went bang.

I grabbed a couple of pounds yesterday from them. I also stumbled upon two 1 pound containers of Bullseye at my LGS today which they just got in yesterday. They only received 6 bottles and didn't put them out on the shelf until today. I grabbed the last 2. My jaw dropped when I saw them on that shelf behind the counter.
Jeez, we're not helping a novice reloader get started. Instead we've created another hoarder !! O0

The Game Shock is $5.99/50 and the HV Match is $7.49/50. They had American Eagle, but I don't know the price. I have been buying Aguila SuperExtra for $5.99/50 at another LGS, but they never have much on the shelf at any one time.
I accidentally re-kindled an old love affair with my 10/22 recently, so I'm willing to pay. I think the last time I bought .22 prior to 2013 it was CCI MiniMag for $4.99/100.

I never even knew CCI Std velocity CAME in 50-packs until recently. I still have 4/5 of the 100 rd plastic boxes of the 40 gr Std Velocity left.

I'm actually pretty well stocked with some GDs and even more Hornady 124 XTPs.
I've 'almost' quit shooting them for practice---I now load up my bulk bullets to GD speeds. :-\

WST and Clays are pretty much non-existent locally. Other common powders are around, but it takes some searching.

Internet sellers have a backlog into the next 3 decades. Local shops are the way to go. Ask 2 or 3 of your local GS what days their shipments arrive and be there. No one knows what's coming until the truck pulls up. You just need to be there.

Biggest LGS in the area just started carrying reloading supplies. One 9mm-appropriate powder: PB. 8lbs for $220. No, thank you. ;-)

Local Bass Pro yesterday, which never has powder, had a bunch of Alliant, IMR, and Hodgdon rifle powders. I was looking for powder for 270 (picked up some RL22), so that's sort of what I keyed in on. IMR 4831, Hodgdon 4831SC, RL 17, 19, 22. Not bad. They had plenty of other I don't recall specifically because I wasn't looking for them. They also had Winchester, Remington, and CCI primers of all varieties. A sign of relaxed demand? Maybe? Hopefully? ;) They had not a single pistol powder.
Primers were about $3.90- $4.50 /100, and powder was in the $29-$33/pound range, so prices sucked. I hated paying $31 for a pound of powder, but I'm just starting down the 270 path and don't want to pay a hazmat fee until I know what I want to buy in bulk.

I'll get that next. Should have just bought it when I was there. I was choosing between the IMR4831, H4831SC, and R22. I knew they were all good choices. I just sort of picked one. I have 100 Nosler 130gr Spitzers and a 100 Sierra 140gr GameKing on the way. I may just go ahead and go back tomorrow and pick up a bottle of 4831SC and try out both at the same time. ;)

Camera. I was selling electronics at Sears at the time and purchased the camera on Wednesday. I came home the 180 miles that Saturday morning to go hunting with my Pa and Grandpa. They watched the deer bed down in the morning (it was beautiful but COLD) and kept an eye on them all morning. We suited up, signed into block management, and went back home. The deer was only taken about 1200 yards from our farm. Pa shot it about 225 yards with a custom Interarms Mark X action (Mauser 98) with an all steel Weaver K4 scope. Bullet was a 130 grain Gameking that broke both shoulders, double lung, and was sitting between the skin and muscle on the far side of the deer.

I'm using Gunbot. When the reseller notifies Gunbot they have something in stock, Gunbot posts it with how many minutes ago it was posted. Once it sells out, they add SOLD OUT to the entry for that powder. Two days ago, I saw AA#7 and Power Pistol (twice) post and sell out in under four minutes. Those two stand out because I'm looking to buy them, but I've been seeing all sorts of popular powders pop up regularly lately. They don't last long, but they're at least hitting the shelves instead of just filling backorders. I'm just posting here to give people a little hope. I'm seeing a lot more of the popular ones than I was a month or two ago. ;-)

You need to check frequently & you may get lucky to find something that has just been posted to be able to get it in time. Having accounts setup on various supplier sites helps with the speed of purchasing as it is a Race to get it & check out. When searching powder on Gunbot for powder I "sort by age" so the latest entries are on the top of the list. Been 6 months since I have made an online purchase of powder. You need to get LUCKY but even then you usually end up buying more than you want or need to justify the Hazmat & shipping costs. Which is why supplies are exhausted Fast.

I agree. You have to buy too much powder at once to justify the Hazmat fees/shipping. I've only done it a few times over the years, and I now have Nobel-Vectan powders that may degrade before I use them all up.

I shot a match today that took 118 seconds to shoot maybe 115 shots on 5 stages; and that was with a poor showing on one stage. :(
I'm skipping the "Mother's Day" steel shoot tomorrow, because I choose to stay married.

That's a lot better than the months it was for a time previously!
Having said that, they've priced themselves out of my consideration. A case of Montana Golds (more often in stock) can be had in 124gr JHP for 9.8c each, with several decent coated options (Bayou, SNS) or Xtreme plated being in the high 6.x to low 8.x cents each range.
I've heard but can't confirm, the wait on Zero pistol bullets is also shrinking..

I bought 4 boxes of Automatch. It has never performed that well in anything I have tried it in, but a 8 and 4 year old can't tell the difference!

I just bought another 3 pounds of n320 at my local range, and I'm still recovering from the sticker shock. :(
P.S. They had a LOT of VV in all versions on the shelves, all but n340 were in 1# jugs. VV n320 wasn't out visible. I asked and they said they keep it stashed (?) and would get it for me.
VV changed the n 320 jug design & logo. The dad-gum bottle is about a 1/4" taller and won't fit in the bottom of my powder box without laying sideways. :P ;)

The difference between V N320 at $36.99/lb (what it costs here locally)and if you could find 231 at $26.99/lb (what it costs here locally) is 10 bucks a pound or just over 1/2 a penny per bullet produced. The Fins are shipping powder here and it is getting almost what I would consider easy to find Vit powder. It is excellent powder and to me it is worth the extra 1/2 cent per round. I know if I go shoot every USPSA every Tuesday, say 130 rounds, that's like 65 cents extra I spent to shoot the N320. I dig 231 and will use it if I ever see it again. I am also a giant fan of N320 it is hard to find a fault with that powder for a 9mm round. Except that it cost 1/2 per round more.
It is really about all you can find now and if you look at it through the per round lens as opposed to the per pound lens.....it is not a bitter a pill to swallow IMHO

For Production Class minor loads with 124gr bullets, n320 is unbeatable in my opinion. Locally, VV is showing up locally but except for n340, all are 1 lb containers. ???
These guys on the forum snookered me into trying 7625. It's a great substitute for n320, just not as clean burning. It's also MUCH more versatile than n320 with it's wider load range and multi-use capabilities. It's also now gone forever! :P
231 worked for me but not as well as the above powders.

I will go a step further on the N320. Don't think of it by the round or pound. Think of it by the month. 1700 rounds per pound or somewhere thereabouts? So a reasonably high volume shooter shooting 1700 rounds per month is paying an extra $10/month. Big deal.
I shoot 2000-3000 per month, so it would be an extra $12-18 for me. I wouldn't hesitate to pay that per month to shoot the powder I want to shoot. So far, unfortunately, I haven't been able to score any. Might have to make road trop to Texas and get 1SOW to share his secret supplier with me. ;)

Just placed an order for 6,000 .223 bullets and 1,000 .40 bullets with X-Treme Bullet Co. They're having free shipping this week, for those interested.
I particularly like their brass credit program, since they're giving $2.50 a pound credit for reloadable brass, and I only got $1.70 a pound at the scrap dealer's earlier this week. They're getting about 80 pounds of excess 9mm and .40 brass towards this purchase.

The price of yellow brass varies constantly, sometimes daily. At the peak, it was $2.25 a pound, but has been back down to $1.70 for the last couple of months in my area. It also varies by locale, with some paying decent prices and some even refusing to take it at all. I've found my scrap dealer to be very fair with their prices, and I do a little trading with the scale man on the side.........

Sportsman's Warehouse has put up N320 on their website the last four mornings in a row. Since they're obviously not getting new shipments of it daily, I would assume they are making a little available every morning. It might be worth trying tomorrow after 5:00am EST. It has been going up between 5 and 6 according to gunbot and has been selling out quickly. I havent caught it in stock yet.

Was at my local reloader supply shop today & picked up one each N320, N340 & CFE Pistol. Also a box of Fed SPP. SHEESH... About $150 dropped there. I went there for bullet lube but he had nothing.
Headed of to my "kinda" local Cabelas & got 2 tube of orange lube. Long ride for over priced wax.
But they had some Longshot & CFE 223 on the shelves. They had CCI SPP for $32/1K bought 2 boxes even though I paid $38 for the Fed's above. Took a pic for 1SOW but I will log back in from my phone to post.

I got the reloading bug and started ordering equipment a few months ago. I got bullets and primers, but no powder. I wanted to start loading 38 special first, but ended up loading 357 followed by 223 due to powder availability. The online attemps to purchase powder though gun bot and others was frustrating. I got a list of local retailers provided by one of the powder manufacturers. I called one yesterday that was about a 1.5 hour drive from my house. The guy said they had some Titegroup, so I made the trip. I ended up getting 3 pounds of Titegroup. For 38 target loads, that will keep me shooting for some time. They had some CFEpistol and a good supply of rifle and shotgun powders. I wish it wasn't a 3 hour round trip, but it was good to see some stocked shelves.

The 7625 is also very good for minor PF competition use AND is more versatile in load range.--It's also good for many calibers and is/was primarily a preferred shotgun powder.---very handy powder to have.

The 9mm worked well for my 75B but needed .357 for no leading. The hardness was fine. I personally prefer the new coatings for 9mm.

Just got 5k Fed Gold Medal Match SPP at Bullets.com for $30/k. After Hazmat fees $36/k. Good deal as I can't even find the regular FSPP for that cheap anymore.

Oddly enough, our local CAL Ranch store suddenly started stocking more powders, primers and bullets. Not near as much as Sportsman's Warehouse by any means, but going from no local selelction to something is very good...even IF 100 9mm XTPs runs $22.....

Yes, they has 1, 4 and 8 pounds of 231. Think they had four of the 8# and two 4# jugs. Forget how much they had of the 1#, but it was over 10

I went to the Huntsville, AL gun show this morning for entertainment. There were a few pistol powders: 800X for $21/lb, Trail Boss $17 for 9 oz, Lilgun for $159 8 pound jug and H110 for $270 8 pound jug. Aside from the H110, I thought the prices were good. I did not buy anything, but enjoyed looking at all the firearms.

In the Powerfactor Show's interview with Chris Hodgdon, he made reference to the fact that even though they are the same powder made in the same plant, a large amount of their customer base will only buy the Winchester branded powder. ::)

I've been at one store and observed 231 for one price driven down the road 5 miles to a bigger box store and saw it for 2 bucks more. It's not just Hodgdon who tries to make an extra buck. I've been looking for replacement Zero 125gr (traditional ogive--not conical) JHP for quite some time with no luck.
Today, I went to ROZE and there were "2" 1000 bullet boxes available. I ordered both, but not yet sure I got them. I Printed the receipt, but never recieved the confirming email.
The ROZE site now shows "O" in stock as it has for many months. :-\

Yep, I asked if they had any more in back, but that was it.
All loading components are out on shelves. Had the guy call the other shops to see if they had any, but no luck. They did have 5-6 bottles of Varget there too, as well as other powders. Said he would take my name for when they get more.

If anyone is ever near Kernersville NC, you need to stop in and check out lucky 13. They always have Winchester or cci primers for $29 per 1000, lead bullets, and usually a good supply of powder. I know they had 8lbs of 7625 and a few others and 1lb containers of W231, Varget, E3, Clay Dot, and a bunch of others.

I stopped in this last Wed after work and they had CCI, Win, and Fed small pistol primers in stock, large pistol (4k only, I think), large and small rifle primers. They had them the week before also. They told me stock is put out daily and that new shipments arrive Tuesday morning early, so by 9 AM opening, the new stuff should be out. I haven't seen any pistol powders, but then I work in Portland and haven't been able to get in on Tues mornings yet. :)
Stop in the antique room off of the used rifle racks...interesting stuff for sale.

I have 8# of HP-38, 4# of Titegroup and 5k CCI 550 pistol primers on order. I received 8# of IMR 4227 yesterday from Midsouth, which Recob's also has at a higher price. Since I am not a high volume shooter and only reloading 38/357 currently, I'll stop buying powder for now. It feels like the powder supply has improved this month. Working on cleaning my wife's junk out of an old dry sink to make into my powder cabinet.

Santa brought me a Rossi 92 in .357 that I have been upgrading, so the higher velocity with the 20" barrel and tube fed magazine make the flat nose jacketed bullet a good choice for my reloading .357. I loaded some 357 last night with 15.3 grains of IMR 4227 behind the Zero bullets and the 550 CCI primers.

I actually had a couple pounds of True Blue and a couple pounds of 3N37 in the cart, as well, just to try them out, but once my 10 pounds of Bullseye disappeared from the cart, the HAZMAT fee loomed larger, and I dropped the whole purchase. Truth be told, if they'd had Ramshot Comp in anything other than 8 pounders, I'd have been tempted to pick some up and try it out in .45.
Right now, I'm waiting on the first opportunity to buy 8+ pounds of either Bullseye or N310 or both.

You're correct. My bad. I get so used to answering 9mm questions that I forget some people own 45ACP guns. Competition may have applications in 45ACP, but unlike most 45 powders does not do well in 38 Spcl or 9mm. It's a specific application powder, not a multi-use workhorse, like W231.

Things are looking up. The last week has been pretty good for pistol powders. I picked up Nitro 100 and Titegroup a couple of days ago. The frustrating thing now is seeing things that I would like to buy and thinking "I just paid a hazmat fee at that store yesterday -- not doing it two days in a row." Of course, if you wait a day to see what else shows up, the stuff from day 1 is gone by the time new powder goes up the next day.

Primers were at $24 and dropping when the president stepped in to "correct matters" after the Connecticut school shooting.
It looks like things are getting back to normal, slowly but surely. For whatever reason, the supply "pipeline" is slowly being filled again. Supplies are showing up and prices are steadily declining. Hopefully, in another 6-9 months we won't even need this thread.

I recently bought a couple 1 pounders from a local store, then several weeks later bought an 8 pounder from Cabelas. Everything right now is in and out of stock, so if you're asking where you can buy it, that's not something we can tell you, but if you're asking if it's out there and making appearances at a variety of stores, it definitely is. I've seen it pop up several different places over the last couple months.

As far as I know, yes new with the shown "intro" prices.
I haven't seen any 124gr "jacketted" conventional ogive hollow points at .356" anywhere else. Maybe someone else has. :-\
In small quantities these are expensive, but I may try some.

Walked into CAL Ranch store yesterday, ONLY supplier of reloading supplies...nothing but black powder/substitutes, small pistol magnum primers, large rifle primers, and bullets available were only oddballs, like 6.5mm. Counter guy said they hadn't had a truck delivery since the day before Christmas. So glad some incredible people with the Hole In The Target Gang assisted with my powder supply!

Was also looking at the mixed 308 but when I went to ad to cart it said quantity selected does not match stock, sold out as I was looking... pics of the 45 look ok. Seemed like they post pics of the bad stuff and do not try to hide defects. Will post back on what I get.

Said I would post when the plated pulls came in. Arrived today, took the slow road...
Was picking through my first box and 99% are the same type with concave base. Found 1 fmj. Some others that did not take well to pulling and those seem alike with thin plating, heavy pull marks and dented more than the rest. Makes those easier to cull.
Bad news is that all pretty much all measure 448 diameter. Didn't get the scale out yet...
Plinkers for sure. No target accuracy coming from these.
