I didn't see anyone else posting on this. If there was already a post -- please accept my apology and disregard. anyway...
If your gonna keep your Century Para (folding metal stock) Vzor58 in the basic stock configuration without all the forend grips, lights rails and antennas. Then this Paratrooper case for sale by one of the Czech ebay guys is pretty slick. It comes with a sling for the case which can double for the rifle. In the typical canvas and stitched leather motif of all the other Warsaw Czech surplus, IMO this is a pretty bleep cool accessory for the VZ58 with the folding stock. The case is designed to hold the rifle with the stock unfolded and sticking out of the top then slung onto your back with your pack and chute I guess from the pics I have seen. You can also easily get a 30rnd mag in there. I will try and get a pic up from the Samopal Vzor 58 book, or criminally link to a pic online, if I can find one.
Maybe its just me but... The price at $85+ would be fair IMHO for this quality, and he is selling for $30 plus ship on eBay -- which I find strange. I already snapped up a few, and after receiving them and realizing what a deal they are, I ordered a few more. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Packaging-the-paratroopers-vz-58-Czechoslovakia-for-gun-new-unused-/151449870931?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23431da253 For purposes of disclosure - I have ordered a ton of shizha from this seller in the past, but I have no, zero, notta, affiliation with him.
I highly recommend this cool case for VZ.58 folders.

Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered one.

The same ebay member has the same case and sling for $15 with $12 shipping. That's two cases/slings for the same price. He does label them as being "dirty" so I don't know how they look.

If anyone has any pictures better than those in the auctions would you consider posting them?

These canvas ones would be the early/first generation ones. There's a poly/nylon one with same material as the paratrooper mag cases that also appears to have shoulder straps and an inner liner for ~$50 on ebay as well. Depending on needs, I'd lean towards that one. Or at least running a silicon sock inside the canvas case...

When you get the paratrooper case, can you post a picture of the gun in with stock folded?
-
I got one of the used ones. All the other leather accessories cleaned up well, so this unit should too. What I need is a sling with a single clip to carry the mag pouch on the range rather than putting it on my belt.

While you can cram the folded stock into the case, the muzzle will not be at the bottom. I think the case may be designed to have the stock sticking out of the top on the version I posted the ebay link to. It certainly works really well that way.
The later models look wider, however IMHO they don't have the same classic Czech leather/canvas motif as the older version (which I prefer).
Here is a pic from the Samopal Vzor 58 book showing one variation of the case.

Yeah, saw that. Some looked a bit thread worn and I personally prefer NOS.

In for one of these....thanks!!!

So that case is big enough to fit the vz2008 with the unfolded? cool. didn't look big enough in the picture, but there wasn't much size perspective. thanks for posting that awesome photo of the paratrooper kitted out.
-
I just got mine from ebay. How do you connect the sling?
-
to the bag or the rifle? The VZ2008 comes with a sling
