Saw the post about deguns.net having some (they had a lot, web site said they had about 65 of them).
Couldn't wait/take a chance on the next gun show in the area, so I checked out their FFL transfer list and called a local FFL about 10 miles from me. We talked and he said he'd call me when it comes in.
Between the gun, the shipping/insurance and the dealers transfer fees and back ground check it looks like about $630. More than my P07/P09 before the RMR work, but less than I paid for that satin nickel CZ 75 Compact I bought to give my wife (so I could keep my P09 in .40 S&W).
Pictures and range report when I get it. Now, to get a concealed carry holster that will fit the gun.
-
Did the same, mine should be $620 to my hands.
I'll be running it in the weekly outlaw match I shoot on Thursdays, hopefully starting next week. Probably going to throw my old tritium SP01 sights on it that I have sitting in a drawer... but some goodies from Cajun or CZC might be in order before long. 8) 8) 8)
-
Came back in from changing oil/filter in my car and mowing the lawn and saw that it ready to be shipped. Hopefully I'll get it early next week.

Saw your post and checked my email, Pistol should be hitting the LGS Friday 8) 8) 8) 8)

Yup, now mine shows shipped. Gonna be tough to wait.
-
Mine too !
-
That is my next purchase, I'm currently waiting on my tax stamp for an Octane 9. Would love to see some pics of yours when you get it.
-
Checked the tracking info. It should be delivered to the FFL today (left the local shipping/delivery terminal at about 0430 this morning for delivery).

I've been waiting to hear from forum members about this for a long long time. Super excited to hear any work you do and thoughts on the pistol! I almost don't want to post in here, then I won't get updates, and won't lust after these pistols if they're really good.

Picked it up about an hour ago.
First picture. Shows up sideways in photobucket and photobucket won't let me edit/rotate the picture. Sorry.

Will shoot it this weekend even if I have to shoot it in the rain. Neither of use will melt and both will dry off, but only the pistol will get wiped down with an oily rag after being dried off.
Have a safe and fun Memorial Day holiday weekend. And if that offends anyone who is not American, or who doesn't have any sense of obligation to the servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives and health to keep the rest of us safe - go back where you came from and stay there. Bye now.
-
You know, that Urban Grey is really growing on me. Looks great, looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Neat!

Why does it have the downswept CZ75B beaver tail instead of the SP-01/SA upswept beaver tail? I was reaching that people said the new P-01 Omegas had the upswept beaver tail? That is disappointing as I've got one of those same pistols on the way in Urban Grey from the same vendor. Crap! I wanted the new upswept beaver tail.
Still looks great and I'm excited to get mine.
-
Just got back from my LGS too, already love this thing.
A few things I've noticed:
- Def notice the lighter weight of alloy frame and less slide mass
- The Supressor sights aren't for me and I'll be throwing the stock SP01 night sights on it.
- The new trigger is AMAZING. I have shorter than average fingers and the DA pull is much more comfortable with this trigger.
- Single Action is kind of mushy, I'll get the safety swapped in and see if it changes the feel.
Here are a couple shots next to my SP01. Should be hitting the range Sunday for her break in.

Forgot to add this. In VA the threaded barrel makes it an "assault pistol". That means you have to have proof of US citizenship (birth certificate or passport).

Please throw a evil flash hider on it to make it more assault like!

I almost ordered my favorite holster for my soon to be new Urban Grey P-01 but then I remembered that the front suppressor site would most likely not allow it to fit.
Can we start a list of holster that will for this new P-01 and its front sight?

It fit my Comp Tac International that I use for my SP01 just fine.

I'll have to try it in the SP-01 holsters that I have once I receive the pistol

OR Voter Registration.
I'd like to see CZs come with ledge sights also. I like the looks of the Omega trigger - very nice. I never liked the recurved trigger.
-
Interesting. I'm not big on threaded barrels.

Is the standard compact barrel interchangeable?

Well, I "know" a little more about it now.
Took it apart and cleaned it and lubed it. Didn't need cleaning. It was about the cleanest new gun I've ever seen.
The finish is worn off the rails on the frame where the slide rides back and forth (fine with me) even before I shot it.
Frame is aluminum (didn't realize that when I bought it, but again, fine with me.)
Sights are night sights. Nice glow, all night long.
Very nice trigger in single action. Very much like my P07 DUTY when I first bought it. I haven't checked pull weights, yet.
The two supplied magazines drop free when the mag. release button is pressed. The CZ 75 magazines I've been buying up in preparation for the P01's arrival do not drop free. I though they were the same magazines but there's some small difference. I'll have to take care of that before I start carrying it.
There's something a little funny with the safety. If I drop the slide to load a round from the chamber the safety goes to the safe position just fine. If I shoot it and then put it on safe, again, no problem. If I start to take up the trigger pull, then decide not to fire it the safety will not move to the safe position. I mean pull the trigger to the point where the firing pin block is lifted, but not far enough to release the hammer. Something else I'll need to figure out/fix prior to carrying it.
I can pull the hammer back slightly and the safety will move into the safe position. The hammer must be moving ever so slightly during that last part of the trigger movement before it fires and the hammer moving is blocking the safety. Or, some other internal part moved, but not the hammer.
The grips are black, like my wife's CZ 75 compact, but these are soft rubber while the CZ 75 compact has hard plastic (?) grips. The look the same but the P01's grip is "grippier" due to the material it's made out of. The front and back of the frame on the P01 are machined with long slots to aid in gripping the pistol, while the 75 Compact's frame is not.
Range report tomorrow with target pictures, once I get my phone out of the car (car's in the garage and it's raining like hell outside).
I like it. Not, so far, in the same league as the P09 9MM, but I still like it.

Awesome info - please keep it coming. :)

Do you have a pair of calipers? Can you measure the distance from the trigger face to the back of the back strap where the web of your hand rests under the beaver tail on both the new Omega trigger and the SP-01 with the recurve trigger?
Also, I want to buy your decocker levers!
-
Mine is waiting at my ffl till my OD SP01 comes in from Kentucky Gun Co.
-
Really good looking.

Sorry for the delay in answering a couple of the questions. I'd think about the calipers when I was inside but when I went outside to walk/feed the dogs it never occurred to me to get them from the garage.
So, The distance between the front of the trigger and the rear of the frame at the closest point is 2.98"
I also got out the trigger pull ga. SA the trigger pull repeats at 3.5 to 3.75 lbs. DA is something right at, or just above 11 lbs. My ga. only goes to 11 lbs. The DA trigger pull is different than on the P07 and P09 though. On both of those the hammer starts to raise at some point, moves part of the way back (can't confirm it's before, or after, half cock) and then finally moves to the rear and releases.
The P01's hammer appears to be glued to the back of the slide as the slider on the ga. moves up the scale, then suddenly, at about 11 lbs. it flies rearward and releases. I tried it several time make sure I wasn't missing some movement of the hammer. It's just pull, pull, pull, bang (or in this case, click). No idea why the P07/P09 trigger pull is different for DA vs. this P01.
-
Thanks for the info. This really makes me want one...except in black. I'll admit the urban grey or whatever it's called is also growing on me, but my carry guns are always black. :)

I had a CZ (bought it from CZ USA) for the P07 DUTY. It's one of those drop leg holsters. Kydex with a spare mag pouch in front of the holster.
Once the RMR was installed on the P07 DUTY (with the taller front/rear sights) that pistol won't fit the holster anymore.
I got it out today and started fiddling with it and the new P01. The P01 has tall sights on it but it slid right in, to a point. The rail was hitting the portion of the holster right in front of the trigger guard locks. I got out the old saw (one of those new fangled jobs that oscillates the blade back and forth but doesn't spin it) and made two cuts down the bottom of the holster to right in front of the trigger guard portion. I cut across (between the saw cuts) with a razor knife.
At that point the P01 would slide on it, but not quite lock up (this holster uses two latches that grab the inside of the front of the trigger guard on the pistol). I cut out a short notch in the top/front of the holster to clear the tall rear sight and it slid right in and locked up.
Carried it that way while walking the dogs, mowing the yard and the back lot, no issues.
Oh, mag pouch - a 14 round CZ 75 compact magazine fits just fine (little loose really). The 16 round CZ 75 magazine fits okay, just a little tight. The 18 round magazines with the extension on the bottom won't fit at all.
I'm happy, for now, the old holster is once again useful and I can carry the new P01 around while doing yard work, walking the dogs, etc.

picked up my urban grey P09 the other day and shot it at the range today. Amazing gun. Made the mistake of looking at the gun counter on the way out and they had a 75 P01 Urban Grey and had to put it on lay away..... these things are contagious. Amazing guns.
-
Bought a Streamlight TL3 and put it on the rail. Had to change the piece that fits into the notch on the rail. The one in the light set the light way too far forward. Changed it out for one of the other ones (don't remember the letter designation) and if moved the light back so the rocker switch tabs were in about the same place as the TL1 on my P09.
Then, of course, I had to take the light back off to put the P01 in the drop leg holster and go out to work on a couple trimmer (got one of two fixed, the second one is a design issue that new parts only fixed for 4 rope pulls before it broke again). Then I took the working trimmer, got the high speed adjustment set so it wouldn't bog out when the throttle was pressed and did some trimming. You get grass fragments all over everything in the area of that spinning head.
Oh well. I'd rather be able to set the guns up the way I want vs. getting the weed eaters fixed. The guns are more important and last a hell of a lot longer.
-
Got a new phone, pictures of the P01 with the light on it.

Mine came in today too.
I thought that $579 was a reasonable price.
The only one in the store.

I even got to shoot it suppressed or the first time.
The LGS has a shooting range and they rent suppressors.
It was cool once, but I am not sure that I would spend the money to buy my own.
Also, the LGS ad said that it came with 14 round magazines.
Mine came with two 16 rounders.

Shot it again yesterday with 115 and 147 grain hollow points and 147 grain lead bullets (the ones that don't tumble.)
100% reliable again. It's what I've come to expect from my CZs.
My youngest son said it felt good in his hand, but the trigger was too light. He said he could not feel the last little stop where it's lifted the firing pin block, but not released the hammer. He came feel it on his P07 and my P09, but not on the P01. I can feel it, he needs more practice.
Edited to change 158 grain hollow points to 147 grain. Must have had .357 magnums on my mind.
-
I am liking the looks of this gun. I will need to put one in my hands to see how well it feels. Would make a nice HD gun with light and suppressor.
-
These have a soft rubber grip on them vs. the compact we have with a hard plastic grip. The grip panels looks the same, but the soft rubber one "grabs" your hand so much better. I thinking about ordering a pair for the CZ 75 Compact so I can remove the skate board tape that helps us keep a grip on that slick satin nickel frame.
I've not said this till now, but the more I handle it, the more I like the feel in my hand and I'm beginning to think I like it better than the P07.
-
Might have been the wrong thing to put one in my hand. Left the LGS with the only one they had.
-
Will be going to the range today to shoot. I just purchased a P-07 less than a month ago and I like it. This P-01 feels better in the hand than the 07 does. The trigger on this 01 is better than the 07, not that the 07 is bad. If i would have bought this first I don't think I would have purchased the 07. I would have 2 P-01s.
