Just bought a CZ75B.
I'm shooting USPSA.
GUN is bone stock so I want to upgrade the trigger and decrease the length of reset.
Do I buy the pro kit and just get everything that's included?
Do I buy parts individually and just add as I feel the need?
Do I go with another kit, or do I go a different route.
What to you guys think?
Moe

You can save yourself some postage by just buying the Pro Package. You will end up with most if not all of it anyway. Dont forget the sights. The EZ 9/40 is a huge upgrade of the stock factory sights.

I think this is the way I'm leaning.
I like those sights but they're not adjustable are they?
Cgw said their best sights are out of stock and won't be in stock until October.
Anyone know what sights they're talking about?

They are speaking of their adjustable sight set. They are doing some redesign on them. Their fixed sight set is all you would need to compete with. I have both and the sight picture on the fixed set may be more of what you would like for competition, they are excellent and less exspensive.
-
That fixed sight is setup for guys with crap eyes. As a glasses wearer that's something I'm certainly considering.

You wont go wrong buying the pro package. I'm also a fan of the EZ-D sight set.

Anything else before I got submit?
Pro kit is in the cart.
2 mags.
Punch tool.
Anything else?
Side release, safety, nah release?
Let me know before I order tomorrow.
Thanks,
Moe

L springs are good to have. They?ve been known to launch into no-mans land never to be seen again.
-
+1000 on getting extra springs. I ended up having to reassemble the sear cage on my PCR recently when I was installing an "Old Style Trigger" and promptly lost the firing pin block lifter spring. My next step was to go to the CGW site and order 3 of each of the three springs that are in that sear cage. Of course, when I put it back together, I only needed the one I had lost, but having the extras was cheap insurance if you ask me.
All three of my CGW guns have the Pro Kit, installed at CGW, and they are great.
-
Two L springs in the parts bin means you'll never lose another one. 8)
-
Lesson Learned. :) As CGW says about that spring : "Often Lost......seldom found."
-
In anticipation of the arrival of my pro kit I punched out by the roll pin holding the firing pin in and removed all pieces.
No so bad.
Going to get some sand paper and Dremel tool attachments and do some polishing.

very nice. I've never had the courage to punch out my trigger pin. Always felt i would break the pin somehow. Looking forward to future updates.
-
Snacks: No need to remove the factory pin unless you are replacing the trigger or you want to install the CGW floating trigger pin. The factory pin isn't meant for re-use so I wouldn't suggest it being removed unless you are replacing it with the CGW floating pin. The Pro Kit he is installing comes with both a new Trigger and the floating pin.
-
i had contemplated replacing the trigger on an old sp01 i had. but never did. didn't realize the pro kit came with a replacement pin. good to know for future projects
-
Everything has been completed.
I really feel confident working on this gun now. YouTube videos, forum pics and posts, and just patience.
I had the trigger assembly installed last night. Pretty smooth process. Got to the point where I needed to remove hammer pins and disassemble sear last night, but went to bed because I didn't want to make a mistake.
Had a hard time punching out the hammer spring. I had to put the hammer assembly in the freezer to get the pins to shrink.
Woke up this morning and punched them out no problem.
Replaced pins with what I thought were the right pins. I'll let back to this later.
Assembled the rest of the gun and tricky part was resembling the sear and placing the springs in the correct location. A few YouTube video hints later and I was ready to go.
Went to the range and had decent success but the gun would hang up when day firing in double action.
I remembered that the pins I put in the hammer didn't fit right so I went home.
Ripped the gun apart except for the trigger.
Realized I had a bag with two hammer pins left untouched.
Doh
I tried installing the new pins and after about 30 minutes of frustration into the freezer they went.
45 minutes later I was on the basement floor pounding away to get the buggers installed.
Once in and assembled no problems were found.
Reset is short. Not as short as my legion but it's a firing pin n block gun so... Everyone said don't expect that they were right.
It's not bad, it's especially not bad when you're not slow firing, searching for the reset, and expecting it to be better than it is.
Once I shot it and found the improvements the reset is crisp and the trigger pull is smooth in double action and shirt light and crisp in single.
Weights are just less that 3lbs. 2.14 and just about 7.5 in double action.
I did some light polishing. 400/600/1200 grit polish on some spots. Probably could improve it but I'll shoot it first.
Using the blue trigger spring which is 13# I believe. I have been told I can use an 11 pound with the extended firing pin so I'll have to try that soon.
I'm certainly impressed. Especially with the reduce trigger reach.
Lots of adjustments that will need time to dial in.
I hope that with time and rounds down the pipe that the trigger weights lighten up. Only time will tell.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I need to shake this guys hand. This gentleman had a lot of tips, tricks, and great video work when it comes to Sear assembly and disassembly this gentleman's videos were the BOMB.

This guy is funny and told me how to get the hammer pins into the hammer/disconnector rod assembly.
1. Place pins in Freezer.
2. Hammer against a concret floor. Plastic and wood is no bueno.

Assembly videos.
Some of the biggest issues I Had was finding a video that provided a specific view that allowed me to realize what I was missing. This video helped.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phNrcrAgpII&t=4s
Polishing Video - Certainly nice to see the video of someone doing polishing work on the CZ action.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI5cYTTnhDE
Another Assembly video. Certainly helped to have another view.

Who wouldn't want a link to a 3D Animation of the assembly of your CZ75B
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CP-DEuIt_V8
This video is added because it's funny and after doing all this work it's nice to get a laugh of someone that bit off a little more than he could chew and then cried about it.
Again if anyone has any questions please let me know.

Lastly, I thought I would add some photos of the finished (for now) work.
I'm an engineer, but no means mechanical or really mechanically inclined.
I needed to watch a lot of videos and read a lot of forums to be able to figure this all out.
The overall polish work and install took about 6/8 hours.
I don't think anyone should be intimated as long as your patient enough to read and watch.
Final thought.
Vacuum before you do this. Lay down a sheet. Buy spare parts. Some of those items go all over the place and are really squirrely.
Good luck.

Well done, i am glad to hear the project was enjoyable. Even with all of the upgrade parts and polishing CZ75 variants in most cases still benefit from break in. In my examples the trigger has continued to wear its self in and smooth out from use. The trigger pulls usually lighten up a bit from use as well.
Thank you for the pics.

That's great! Can't wait to put another 1000 rounds through!

Great job! There?s nothing you can?t do now with regards to improving your CZ.
Now go to the range and shoot some rounds.
-
50 rounds through and no issues!
Loving this trigger.
Love the reset, love the pull, and I think it's only going to get better.
Still going to buy the tuner pack and black hammer spring.
May get extended mag release, extended slide release, and extended safety.
Want to shoot some more.
I will say quick mag releases may require the extended mag release to gain access without manipulating the grip a lot.
Will provide more updates as they come.

Glad my videos helped! One day I?ll make them with a much better camera. Great work and congrats on working through all those upgrades. Now be careful of the addiction it often creates.
-
Great post... I'll be doing a P01 soon.
-
Nice thread. I appreciate you showing all the videos you used.
-
Thanks for sharing collection of videos! Recognize a few. Wish I would have found before doing my Rami.... but I'll be back to watch them (just bought another Pro kit for my PCR).
-
Bought 11.5 and 8.5 pound hammer springs to try and decrease the pull weight of my pro package which comes with the 13.5lb green hammer spring.
Numbers with 13.5lb
7.5 and 2.14
Numbers with 11.5lb
6.5 and 2.9
Numbers with 8.5
4.12 and 2.8
Kept 11.5 in as I'm not ready to switch over to all federal ammo and primers.
Haven't shot anything but will provide range report afterwards.
