P01 Recoil Spring an Ejection distance.
« on: January 14, 2019, 09:34:13 PM »
While out shooting my completely stock new P01, I noticed every type of ammo would eject spent cases about 15 feet. I could have fired three rounds, placed a #3 wash tub over them and put the next 200 spent cases in the tub too.

Here is a link to my first range trip and the ammo used with the P01-

There was a Gentleman that wanted to give my pistol a try. When he fired the first round the spent case went about 3 feet and the rest were spread between 3 feet to 12 feet in a very erratic pattern. The same was true with several full magazines he fired through it.

Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this. What are your thoughts and or opinions???

Should I consider a heavier recoil spring because of my consistent 15 feet results with the P01???

Not sure but critical thinking tells me it has something to do with grip and/or limp wristing. You probably have a very consistent, strong grip. You don't limp wrist so most of the force of the recoil is on the slide. The other guy shooting probably had an inconsistent, loose grip and limp wristed. When he did, force of recoil was absorbed by it.

I have lightened recoil springs on my CZs. They launch cases pretty bleep far away. I often spray the poor guy 2 lanes away with my brass. Doesn't bother me but it does make it almost impossible to collect your brass. LOL

I agree it is the grip the real question is how did he like shooting the P-01?

Bingo! Is he gonna now buy a P-01?

Did you potentially just add the "last straw" in his relationship and this poor guy is headed for a divorce because he's buying "one more gun"?

Hahahaha
