This is my one and only CZ pattern pistol. It's an EAA Witness Standard Model EA9SS stainless steel 9mm full size, original small frame. I bough this gun new in 1993, and I have never seen another one exactly like it. The safety and slide stop were originally black, but have since been polished. I also added the Hogue grip, and a Millett rear sight with target blade (not shown). I am still thinking about replacing the front sight with either an XS Sight Systems standard white dot, or a fiber optic dovetail. I also have a period match barrel with 2 port compensator. I have an original 1993 EAA product brochure that lists the finish options for a Witness Standard and Carry-Comp as blue, stainless steel, and duo-tone. The finish options for the Witness Sub-Compact were blue, hard chrome, and duo-tone. No Wonder Finish in 1993, must have come later. The brochure states that new for 1993: The trigger guard was redesigned and the beavertail was extended on all Witness models. The brochure also lists the Witness Sport, Witness Sport L/S, Witness FAB, Witness 9/40, 38/45, & 10/45 Multi-Cal Combos, Witness Limited Class, Witness Multi-Class, Witness Silver Team, and Witness Gold Team models. I looked everywhere and couldn't find a date code.
PS: I have read here that some clones have a feature or can be modified so that the hammer can be cocked, the safety engaged, and the slide racked, loading a round. I remember reading that Rod Slinger has modified guns to incorporate this feature, and has asked Tanfoglio to incorporate this into their design. My EA9SS has this feature from the factory, just another reason why I really like these pistols.
