TRIGGER PULL IMPROVEMENT

Ok, here is what you have been waiting for ( at least a couple of you, LOL).....

The original DA pull weight was off the chart of my scale, so no pic on that (way over 8lbs).

Here is the DA pull weight after these mods. 6.5#s

The SA original pull was almost 6#s

Here is the new SA pull weight.... 3.5#s !!!!!!!

Initial impression:
The DA/SA "feel", feels nice and smooth with no noticable interuption/grittyness of the action. The DA is nice and consistant all the way through and the break "surprises" you. The SA is like butter, nice and smooth and so light but yet controllable. I am very happy with it while dry firing it (snap cap in place). My fiance' started to yell at me, the clicking got on her nerves! LOL, I just could not stop dry firing! Can't wait to get it to the range.

Really great thread. I have a 75B and plan on doing these exact mods, and also adding a SA trigger.

Very helpful and gives me more confidence! Cheers. -D

Caleb,

Apologize if I missed this, but...

How did your range sessions turn out after all of your polishing and installing the CGW kit?  Am curious regarding your experience with the 11.5# main spring and ignition.  You did a great job of slicking up the action and from your trigger pull measurements, the CGW parts did their part (pun intended) to help.

My 75B is purely for range work and was debating the 13# vs. 11.5# spring (along with other parts).  I'll probably get both and test, but wanted to hear your experience.  Thanks, and thanks for the detailed pics.

Hey, I have been busy up to my eyeballs lately so have not had time to shoot it too much. I did get a chance last month to shoot 100 rounds through it and had two failure-to-fire (light primer strikes). I was shooting S&B 115g fmj.....personally, I do not care too much for this ammo. I also shot my M&P 9mm and it also had FTF with this ammo (this pistol has never had any issues to date). So, I am blaming the ammo for now till I am able to run some other brands through it. Personally, I don't think there will be any other light strike issues with other brands of ammo, but I won't know till I actually get some rounds down range.

On the hand, the trigger performed flawlessly. The smoothness was so badass, I did not even knoe I was shooting it in DA. I can't wait to add the comp hammer and some better sights, then this bad boy will be done for a while. I was going to convert it to SAO, but now I'm considering just leaving it DA/SA. We will see.
