Yeah it's unfortunate, but they do seem to be keeping out of trouble for the time being.

Sounds like you handled it very well. The only way I would have handled it differently is
1. I would have called the cops the first time. If they are driving on your yard and then want to slam the door in your face when you approach them about it, you can bet your britches there will be a second time.
2. I wouldn't have told the 911 operator that I was armed. This is just a personal preference but I don't care to broadcast that to the authorities. Of course ... I live in NH where there is very little record of such things. It might be different in your state.

I think you did well, and I know what mean about the heart rate soaring.

One more thing comes to my mind.  If they don't work, what DO they do all day?
Young men don't tend to sit home and watch television.  I would be nervous about that scenario.

Three thoughts:
Trust Funds
Drug Dealers
Section 8

I haven't been lurking about the forum much, but noticed a couple more replies. I don't know what they do. It's been very quiet since the 'incident' and several of them have moved out. The original guy is still there, but isn't around too much anymore. I don't know what he does all day and, to be honest, I don't really care as long as he keeps to himself. He knows that behavior that has been exhibited there before will not be tolerated.

LOL at Section 8. I don't live in a Section 8 area, nor will I ever if I have a choice in the matter. I haven't ruled out drugs, but they don't get the traffic to support that theory. I do think that mommy and daddy bought the house though. Luckily, most of them have moved out and the original resident keeps to himself. At the very least he knows that he has a couple of neighbors who won't put up with their shenanigans.
