My newly arrived 75D with steel frame on the left.  The Compact on the right has an alloy frame.

Nice looking pair. The weight difference is quite noticeable. Looking forward to a range report.

It will be a while for the 75D.  There are some issues with the barrel and rather than risking it I am going to get a new barrel and have it fitted.

That's a shame! Good thing it was noticed.

I've got a CZ 75 Compact, but in satin nickel.  It's just too "slick" in my hand.  Some skateboard tape helped, a bit.

A couple weeks back I got one of the new P01's in urban gray.  It has a combination of soft rubber grips and grooves cut up the front and back sides of the grip frame.  It has a totally different, and comfortable, feel in my hand vs. the CZ 75 Compact.  I'm thinking, if I was to get another CZ 75 (to restore/customize) I'd be trying to get similar grooves machined into the grip frame before I had it refinished.  Does/did CZ make soft rubber grip panels for the full sized CZ 75's.

I would feel kind of bad buying a brand new gun and then modifying it, but "saving" a well used (or abused) older gun would be right up my alley.

The one you had refinished, what was it?  Bluing?  Cerekote?  Just curious.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Sorry to bump my own thread, but i have to chime in.  Birds guns are a great pair.  That steel frame makes me laugh at "compact". Especially when its got 15 rounds of critical duty in it.  Its one heavy little fellow, like a short fat kid.

I havent even taken mine out since i finished it.   I got lazy, then I got carried away on a 6.8 AR build.  I am going to shoot the CZ monday morning rain or shine. I still have the 6.8 sickness, but between these two guns i have spent too much money in the last 3 weeks.  So the 6.8 is getting shelved for a week until I order the barrel.
