Found a NIB 40B
« on: April 02, 2016, 08:14:09 AM »
I met a guy at work who has a NIB 40 B. I saw it yesterdy and it looks great. It's a FrankenGun  for sure. He isn't computer savvy and he asked me to look it up and see if there's a market for it. He also has an as new CZ 52. That is a strange piece. Lastly for CZ's, he has a 40P which he has put 200 rds through. He said he likes that one and would have to have $450 to part with it. I like to hear your thoughts on them so I can report back to him. Edit: He showed me so many guns I lost track. He also has a Dual-tone Compact 9mm NIB he'll sell. All steel with black slide and levers and brushed stainless frame.

He has a cool 92 Beretta Biennium (sp) It is a year 2000 commemorative also nib. It's engraved and has a unique fancy grip. And, he showed me a Nagant pistol, never fired, with a cylinder that moves foward to seal the forcing cone. It shoots a 7.62 round.

I have a nice family of CZ's and I'm not interested myself but I told him I help him sell them if possible. I didn't post this in classifieds because I need to know more before I take that step.

What is he asking for the 40b?
Sounds a little bit high for the 40p.

Colt slide and CZ frame as I understand it. The frame has the 1911 grip profile per Colt's wishes but Colt backed out of the deal. Cz then used the inventory of 40B uppers to create the 40P decocker. Then CZ went to the upper on the current P-06/P-01 using the frames it had for the 40P. I think that's how it went.

My understanding was Colt wanted a reliable .40 DA/SA and contacted CZ for a partnership. The gun is pretty much all CZ engineered, with the stipulation from Colt that it had to resemble a 1911 to appeal to the brand loyalists. It actually made it to market very briefly as the Colt Z-40. They filed for one of their several bankruptcies not long afterwards, and  CZ was left with a bunch of frames with 1911 grip profiles, so they made the CZ-40B from them.

That said, where are you located, and how much is he asking for them?
The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

You can tell the Colt slides have milling marks on them from where CZ milled off the Colt logo.

Last I talked to him I believe he wants $450 plus shipping costs. I haven't talked to him in a few weeks but I'll give him a call. It would be FFL to FFL. I'm in Moorhead, MN
