Does anyone know of a way to make the trigger bar spring fit a little tighter into it's spot in the frame? The spring seems a little loose to me.

You could tweak it and make it fit more snug but at this point it sounds like the previous owner was already messing with it. They are only a few bucks I think I'd just order a new one and go from there.

I ordered one from CGW yesterday. It arrives today. Hopefully that one stays put.
