Finally got in touch with the "head armorer" at EAA. He said what I already knew. Those gun parts for that model are no longer available. He said it was a clone of the CZ-75 but the parts were not interchangeable. I'd love for someone to tell me to the contrary. Anyone have any last suggestions before I give up on this project?

Were it mine, I would have bought either the current Witness Magazine Latch or the Cz75 Mag Latch by now and fitted it to the Pistol, but that's just me.

My apologies for my distractions. I've been painting the interior of my house for two weeks now and can't seem to keep all my other projects straight in my head. I may have seen the messages, but just didn't have time to answer. Maybe the fumes are starting to get to me. :)
Were this my pistol I probably would have done the same, purchasing one or the other mag catch and making it fit. But, this belongs to the father in law of a friend of mine.  I have to wait for the go ahead on any purchases. If they say okay, I will order one of the tow mag catches mentioned and give it a try. Is there one of the two mentioned that would stand a better chance of fitting properly, or have the least amount of fitting required? Thanks again.

I am trying to order the mag catch from CZ Custom but noticed the CZ-75 mag catch is "keyed" on both sides. My particular pistol's mag catch is "keyed" only on the right side. The push button "left" side is round (not keyed). I notice that the CZ-85 mag catch looks the same, with round left side and keyed right side. Would it be safe to assume the CZ-85 mag catch would fit my BTA-90 better than the CZ-75 catch? Or is there some other reason the CZ-85 catch will not work? I am ready to order so please comment asap. Thanks.

Actually I just found the CZ75B "O" style mag release on CZCustom. It has the round push button, so I am going to order that one. I hope it works.

the original mag catch fits.  why don't you find a smith or machine shop that can weld up the worn area and then you, or a smith can dress down the engagement surface.  everything else is just a crap shoot.
