cz,
The double action is smooth and pretty heavy, the single action is very nice. It's a very good factory trigger with solid reset to it. It's not as good as my P-07's trigger was. That Omega trigger was just crazy good but this one is pretty close. Mind you, this is all coming from a guy who usually shoots striker fired pistols (mostly Glock).

wow you must have a better built stingray/trigger than i did, cause my double action i clearly remember because its looong heavy stacking pull then hits the wall then....click, then a very loong reset and another long take up before it clicks.  i also have a po7 with clearly a better trigger.

I'm sorry to hear about your old stingray's trigger. Sounds pretty rough. My double action is very smooth and the reset is very positive. The reset is longer than my Glock's but no different than my P-07 or 75B was honestly. How freaking sweet are those P-07 triggers!!! When I bought this Canik, he had a beautiful extended factory barrel and factory night sights P-07 for $430. It was beautiful. Too bad I really was sold on the Canik.

Well gentlemen,

I decided to contact Century Arms International to discuss warranty for this firearm. I just figured it would be better to get their feedback before taking my gun to the range. They said they will have my account processed by tomorrow (you have to set up an ID waiver with them) and I can call them back to discuss my barrel. Here are the pics I took of the inside of the barrel that I am going to send to them tomorrow.

You can see in the pictures how severe the chatter marks are before the rifling actually begins. After it finally bit into the steel it did create nice smooth rifling to the crown, but I wouldn't mind a replacement and I'm sure they'd oblige.

Question, do you think they will just let me swap the barrel? The firearm itself is really well done, no machining marks, great finish, etc. I'd rather just do a barrel swap then risk getting another whole firearm with a different set of issue.

Update:

They activated my ID waiver and I was told to send a detailed e-mail with my gun's serial number, pictures of the barrel I was asking to have replaced, and a detailed description of what I'd like done. She said they may be able to just send me a replacement barrel which would take far less time than sending in the whole firearm which I do not want to do. I really like my current gun and think it is very nice, I don't want to risk getting one with other issues so I hope they just replace my barrel. I'll keep updating the thread as I get contacts back.

Update:

Century Arms told me that they are going to be e-mailing me a FedEx Shipping label to send the whole firearm back. He told me that if the barrel is found to be needing of replacement that they will put a new barrel in my gun and test the function then send it back. He said it wouldn't take more than 2 weeks so that's good. I'll keep everyone posted.

I've checked my stingray, and I have those mark, but they aren't as pronounced as yours. Who knows, they might look identical in real life, and the depth of yours is a trick of the light. Shoots great, maybe I wore it down after a few hundred rounds.

The cz p01 I saw awhile back had tons of tooling marks and the frames weren't polished much on the internals. I assume is because they'll let the gun smooth out and polish the internals to get a really tight fit.

Thank you for checking your barrel dragonfly. I appreciate it. From the messages I have received from others, it seems like most people have those marks to an extent in their stingray barrels, but a couple reported having completed rifling with no 'free bore'. With a couple reporting having completed rifling and the extent of the marks in mine, I'm going to try and send it in still. I didn't receive my label yesterday so I'm going to contact them later this morning and make sure they have my e-mail right, etc.

Update:

I spoke to Century Arms about 15 minutes ago and they said they were having trouble with their FedEx account which is why I didn't get my shipping label yet. She was very nice and personable. Their customer service is TOP NOTCH so far so anyone considering getting a Canik 55 and dealing with Century Arms International, please do so with the utmost confidence. She said she'd call my cell in a couple hours when they have it all settled and let me know how to go about the label process etc. I'll update after I ship the firearm.
