Hi,
I purchased a CZ P01 from an online dealer, new-in-box. I noticed that the slide had a 2013 stamp when completing DROS paperwork with my FFL dealer to start my 10 day wait period (yes, I'm in CA). From what I could tell in the brief time I was able to handle it the gun looked new, although was very heavily covered in thick grease at several spots (slide stop lever, decocker, hammer/striker, etc).
Is it common for these pistols to take that long to make it to the US market? How about the thick application of grease - is this typical of the way they come from the factory?
I would have preferred a 2014 model but with all of the applied grease I'm hoping there will be no issues with rust. I guess I'll never know but I'm wondering if the gun was actually used, returned and then sold again as new. I'll be able to inspect more closely once I have it in hand but needless to say I am really looking forward to taking it to the range.
