Get some Cold Blue, put some on a qtip, rub over the stamped in letters, wait 60 seconds, and rinse of with cold water to stop the bluing process. If it's not dark enough, do it again.
The cold blue won't do anything to the surrounding polycoat. All bluing is is basically "controlled rusting" of bare metal. That's why you rinse it with cold water after 60-90 seconds to stop the process. As long as the gun is polycoat, then it won't affect the surrounding finish at all. This is what I use for touchups on my parkerized 1911's. I even trimmed down the long ambi safties on one of mine, which left the sides of the safeties bright silver...a little cold blue, and they are black again.
